When it comes to college, people have a hard time deciding on which college to attend. As an senior in high school it is a big debate. Decisions are to be made, many comparisons of schools to be looked at, and etc. Rogers State University (RSU) and Tulsa Community College (TCC) are the two schools that predominantly catch my attention. Both schools offer a lot of advantages. As a senior in the Oklahoma region, these two colleges provide me enough back-up to really submit myself to a college or university. Although they both are very great schools they have their differences. RSU has a variety of degrees and much better academics they offer that TCC does not offer, but looking through some sources, Tulsa Community College provides affordable …show more content…
On a College Navigator website, the authors of “Rogers State University” asserts that RSU provides a variety of great mixes of types of things that both male and female can do and the expansion of the school. As a publisher of the site, it states that Rogers State University is a “public four year college, which accepts men and women to attend. RSU is located in Claremore, Oklahoma about 160 acres wide, with 8 facilities in all”. As a new generation many students are looking for schools that accept them for certain things. For example, high school students look for Co-ed schools, a campus that has a normal good size, and a school that provides many facilities to be in and a school that is somewhat near home. As for Rogers State University it really checks off all the check-list of these types of students. Tulsa Community College is about the same as RSU, but they have their indifferences. In a College Navigator site, the publisher of “Tulsa Community College” asserts that TCC is a great school to attend because of what they offer for on campus. As a publisher of the website, they state that TCC is a “ two year public school, it’s a co-ed campus located in many different areas of Tulsa, with a size of 80 acres wide, but not many facilities”. As the sources compare these two schools differences, the school to get the most chosen votes or applicants it would be Rogers State University because they offer many facilities for these students and it also gives enough space for students to be around school campus because of the size of it, but because of the location, Tulsa Community College wins over a few students because of the way they are separated out in the Tulsa county, making it easier for them to travel back and forth to places. As being said about the new generation, they look for schools that are most convenient and can really save them enough money. To travel back and forth
While University of Michigan and Saginaw Valley State University are very popular choices in college selection, both contain many differences as well as a handful of similarities within campuses, costs, and availability of academic programs. First off, even though the

Phi Slam is an organization at The University of Georgia (UGA) that is run completely by and for students. It takes on the challenge of transforming the perception of Athens as a whole in student’s minds. Athens is, and has always been a place where students come to learn but mostly to get the party experience. Most UGA students flock to downtown bars and clubs at night multiple times every week. Downtown Athens is filled with loud music, dancing, alcohol and college students just looking to have a good time.
When high school students have to make a choice about which university to attend, many colleges may come to mind. Some students prefer to attend a college in their home state. One university Texas A&M attracts thousands of students a year. Because of its rich history, traditions, and how it has evolved throughout the years, Texas A&M will be the only choice to consider for many students.

In addition to this standard, As a student whom will be attending college soon I am looking for private colleges that are well known and recognized for being very well respected institutions that are well ranked by magazines and have a been honored for their excellence. My top schools are all private and christian schools that have been awarded at least one type of academic excellence award or has been ranked by one or more magazines. For example, King has the reputation of a great and very well known and recognized school, it has been named Best Regional University in the South for nearly 30 consecutive years. King University has also been recognized by the Brookings Institution, which in 2016 ranked the University third in Tennessee for preparing students for high-paying careers (King about page). In addition to these honors king has been honored for the past 26 consecutive years, by the U.S. News & World Report that consistently ranked King University as one of the best colleges in the nation also as the "Best Value" in regional liberal arts colleges in the South (King reputation page).
Attending either school will place me geographically close to at least some family which is a major plus of both colleges. The size of the school is very important to me. I am looking for a small school where I can have close relationships with my classmates and professors. The idea of going to a massive university and sitting in a class replete with 500 plus kids with a professor that is nonchalant enough to not care if his students are paying
She attended two of them and has a major in biology from the Southern Maine Community College, which makes it easier for her to connect with her audience because she knows what the experience is like. She understands that some people may rule out going to college because of the price, so it’s important for her to inform them that there are cheaper alternatives with community colleges. “ ‘College is the key,’ a young African American student writes for the umpteenth torturous revision of his college essay, ‘as well as hope.’ Oh, I wanted desperately to say, please tell him about community college. Please tell him that help can begin with just one placement test,” she pleads (Addison, 213).
To me, Farm Bureau means advocacy for the voices of the people. I served as a page in the Maryland Senate, where we were allowed to attend committee hearings. During both session and these hearings, I saw Farm Bureau members on several occasions. They were voicing their thoughts on proposed bills, they were present in groups of young people touring their state’s capital building, they were being recognized and congratulated by members of the General Assembly, and they were lobbyists and members of the Senate and House of Delegates themselves. Farm Bureau
Within any particular system, there is present an underlying motive for success in every sense of the word. While in some scenarios, that motive can be hidden beneath the desire to fit in, above all this, the idea of prosperity is the main factor in motivating individuals toward their goals. Susan Faludi, the author of “The Naked Citadel”, explores how at the all-boys college, students are pressured into conforming to the “Whole Man” standard where they develop brotherhood, a sense of structure, and belonging. When these men are able to develop such strong bonds with one another, several flaws come about. The majors issues at The Citadel, lie in their denial of women into the school, and the traumatic hazing new students endure.
When it come to picking a college it's going off based on what the student environment, learning type, and etc. I believe another essay that ties into Liz Addison Essay is “ Colleges Prepares People for Life” by Freeman Hrabowski. Freeman Hrabowski, president of University of Maryland, in his essay he argues “echoed an increasingly common refrain that college is expensive, that students are taking on unmanageable debt and that they too often graduate unprepared for the world of work” (259). According to both Addison and Hrabowski, college is expensive, but Addison believes that there are ways around paying a high cost of going to college. In addition, Hrabowski feels that even though colleges has ways around paying high cost that either way it goes it would be a bad investment, due to, a student dropping out, or not passing a class.
How many differences are there between the minds of males and females? Are they more different than we believe, or do they actually have more in common? According to some, these differences call for segregation. Recently, a new trend has been coming back, one that hasn’t been popular since the 1950’s; single-sex schooling. Single-sex schooling was brought about originally to be a place where women could succeed in education and leave college becoming more than housewives, and frankly, those views haven’t changed.
Picking to attend a Community college for me is the best choice that I picked for my education. Community colleges provide a great service to students in many more ways other than just education. They help students who are unsure what they want to do or are unable to attend a four year university. Community Colleges also provide continuing education even after they have gotten a degree and a job.
Co-ed schools versus single-sex schools: which will provide a better learning experience for students? The debate over whether or not the genders should be separated in the classroom still stands today. In a society where both men and women have to work together harmoniously, a co-ed education initially seems to be the more viable option since it prepares students for real-world experiences. Although every student has different learning styles, a student would, however, ultimately benefit from the tailored curriculum and comfort of a single-sex educational environment. Students will have a more relaxed learning experience without distractions from the opposite gender.
When I first started applying to colleges, University of California, Riverside was one which quickly ascended my personal ranking system. As I did more research into the university, the more reassured I felt that I could find what I sought after and that I would be happy there. One aspect which put allowed UCR to stand out to me more than the other colleges I had applied to, - as minor as it may sound - is its distance from my home. Secondly, I was easily able to find my desired major and the accompanying suggested academic calendar, which immediately put the university above most others. And thirdly, I have heard great praise of not only the engineering program and Bourn’s school, but the University as a whole from both my colleagues, a handful of friends with family are currently attending or graduated, and my high school advisors.
