Coraline is made by Neil Gaiman. When Coraline and her parents move into an old house that Coraline´s grandmother owned her whole life gets flipped around. When Coraline is exploring her new home she finds a little door. She asks her mother to open it for her hoping it would lead to somewhere new. Somewhere more exciting. At first her mother says no but after Coraline begs and pleads she gives in and looks for the key. When they found it Coraline noticed that the end of the key looked like a button. When her mother finally unlocks the door there were only bricks behind it. Coraline was a little disappointed. But what she doesn't know is that behind those bricks was a better world… Or is it?
The two main settings of the book are the real world and the other world. The real world is bland and boring. Maybe a little gross sometimes too. But the other world is amazing. It's like a party that never dies. But here's the catch; Everyone has buttons for eyes.
The main character of the book is Coraline. Coraline is a very adventurous girl and can be very curious. She loves her family and would do anything for them; Even if they can be

“Maybe it was better to break a man’s leg than to break his heart.” When you hurt a person their heart may never heal. Therefore, if you have no choice but hurt a character it’s better to “break their leg” than to hurt their heart. A leg can heal substantially quicker and easier than a heart. This is exactly what the story Seabiscuit is about, it’s about taking hits and still pushing forward to achieve exceptional accomplishments.
“I know that I am a destroyer of the most precious thing, which is life”. This quote was from Patricia Krenwinkel. Patricia Krenwinkel had an important role in the Manson trials because she stabbed Abigail Folger countless of times and then later on she stabbed Rosemary LaBianca with a carving fork to death. She was found guilty of murder and they gave her the death sentenced, but the judge overruled it so she got life in prison. It has been 46 years since the murder of the Manson family.
The Ideal of Equality was altered progressively by Carrie Chapman Catt’s involvement in the Women’s Rights movement. She founded the League of Women’s voters and the International National Woman Suffrage Alliance, was the president of the National American Women Suffrage Association, and she ultimately helped get women the right to vote in 1920. Carrie Chapman Catt was born on January 9th, in Wisconsin. Her family moved to Iowa when she was seven. As a teenager, Catt realized that her mother did not have the same voting rights as her father did.
In the book, the story takes place in what could be near present day. However, in the movie the community is extremely sophisticated with their technology, that it makes the novel seem like it's taking place in a completely different century. To get the purpose of the book across, the filmmakers didn’t have to advance the community, therefore I believe the book has a superior setting. One similarity is, the book and movie had a similar interpretation for elsewhere. Each of the descriptions is bare wilderness, without civilization for miles.
‘Annabel Lee’ by Edgar Allan Poe is an eminently beautiful yet tragic poem centred around the theme of a forbidden love between two people, and the many obstacles that they overcome in order to be together. At the same time the poem relates back to a man’s undying love for his wife in which even death is unable to hinder. From the beginning of the poem, I realized Poe to be an articulate person who has a beautiful way with words, as he describes the origin of his love story between himself and Annabel Lee. This was shown in Stanza 1 where I identified him to be a kind and doting person, as he continues to talk about a maiden from the kingdom by the sea whom only wished to love and be loved by Poe. As this was written by Poe and shown from
Janie thought to herself that the little girl on the milk carton looks like herself. She remembers the white dress that’s on the girl and that she looks exactly like the girl on the carton. She tried telling her friends and none of her friends believed her. So Janie cut the back of the milk carton off and kept the 1-800 number. She kept the number so she could call and ask questions about the little girl missing.
The other people in that world are the polar opposite to their real world counterparts, and they are all being held captive by the Other Mother to trap Coraline in the Other World. They do connect though, through the theme of perseverance. Perseverance is steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. Both MLK and Coraline show incredible determination in the face of all odds, so they meet the definition of perseverance. There are three examples that really stand out with these two showing perseverance: when they were jailed, in the face of a corrupt authority, and throughout many hardships.
I was pretty disappointed by this book. Hardly any action. I have read a lot of books by frank peretti and he usually like to write horror books. I guess that was what i was hoping to find in this book. I like adventure book.
Coraline is a 2009 dark fantasy stop motion film based on the 2002 novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman. The film follows Coraline, an adventurous girl who discovers her idealised world behind a secret door in the house, unaware of the other worlds sinister secrets. The genre found throughout the film correlates with the dark fantasy genre, which is a subgenre of the fantasy genre. It incorporates darker themes of fantasy into the literary, artistic and cinematic works found in fantasy films. Additionally it will most often contain combinations of fantasy with several aspects that can be found in horror films.
My 3D essay project was a cat from the movie Coraline. The reason I chose a cat is because cats are comforting when you feel sad, and are playful when you are happy. Basically, a cat is like an expository essay because they can change their attitude or mood depending on your emotions. The introduction is arranged of the Marquee. The name Coraline is the large idea because that is what the cat is based on.
