The day started out just like any other regular day In New York. Kids going to school, adults rushing to work, everyone was happy. Then everything changed. People running from from their work sites, kids rushing back home from school, everyone calling their friends and family. If you didn't see what happened, you heard it. If you didn't hear it, then you heard about it on the radio or from the TV or maybe you were even informed from a phone call. Cries and screams pierced the air. News channels scattered everywhere trying to get the latest updates. When a plane flew in to the first tower it caused a burst of black smoke to fill the air. Chaos instantly spread throughout the country like a wildfire. Nobody could believe any of this. Nothing like this had ever happened before. New York's very own twin towers were the first thing you saw when flying in to the city. How could a plane hit something so tall? Why would a plane even be flying low enough to hit the buildings? None of it made any sense. Was it just an accident? Was it intentional and planned? Who would even plan something like that? Nobody had the answers to these questions. No one wanted to face the facts and believe that it could possibly be a terrorist attack on the United States. Everyone tried to figure out what was going on when they …show more content…
In the background, another plane could be heard and seen hurling toward and finally in to the second building. Sirens blared throughout the city. Hundreds of firefighters and policemen ran through the buildings, trying to find a way to get on to the higher floors and get those people out. Many people rushed down the stairs, in to the lobby and out on to the streets. Firefighters attempted to help as many people escape as possible. Many of them knew that they wouldn't make it out, but they kept going. They risked their life just to try and save
The flights that changed america 9/11/01 was a scary day for a lot of people. Parents were scared for there kids and, a lot of people thought they were going to be in the area next. People had questions like, who did this? How many people taken from the families and others? But most people don’t even think about how did 9/11 happened.
What happened is a group of terrorists boarded 4 planes and took them over and crashed two into the twin towers and one into the pentagon and the last one passengers on the last plane retook over the plane and crashed it in a field in Pennsylvania .
The terrorists attacked this plane as well. Flight 175 hit the tower at 9:03 AM. There were 56 people on board, 5 being hijackers, and 9 being crew. Every single one of them gone. But unlike Flight 11, this time, the whole world had watched this on television.
The 9/11 tragedy was a moment where people had their guard up at all times. This was a time where life had strike to reality of time warfare with every person and country. Couldn’t trust no one that came to the U.S. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, were brave because the generations before us had to face what had happened and to what is going to happen. This had left the buildings torn instantly killing hundreds of many people, getting them stuck in the higher floors. This attack was the worst in America ever since the Pearl Harbor All over our nation saw a major impact of devastation in the face of the September 9, 2001attacks.
Introduction The terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers, has not been unnoticed. Millions of people all over the world has seen this terrorist attack on TV. Many lost a family member, friend, colleague or acquaintance. Today, there are still a lot of people who struggle with it.
Lots of conspiracy theories surfaced shortly after the attacks leaving thousands of people puzzled. This day in history was an eye opening experience worldwide and made everyone realize just what us as people are capable, but overall nothing was changed much. There was terrorism before it happened and there still is. Al-Qaeda was the mastermind
Chaos. Grief. Anger. As a nation we all remember a horrific time in our history that occurred over thirteen years ago. Though I was only five years old at the time, I remember the events of September 11, 2001 as if they happened yesterday.
Nobody knew, it was a rude awakening. If the terrorist did not blend in officers would be able to arrest them as fast as possible, but before officers do anything they must take as many safety measures as needed. It was all 10,000 gallons of jet fuel ready to destroy America forever. The time is taking its precious little... It is 9:00 AM, American airline #11 crashed in between the 93rd-99th floor of the North Tower.
Many of the people in the top floors of the towers truly believed that they could get out; that someone would save them. The all-encompassing helplessness
In the short essay, The Price We Pay, Adam Mayblum writes about being in North Tower during 9/11 terrorist attacks. He talks about what he thought was going how and how they got out. This short paper started out as an email that he was sending to a friend. He then had it published online and it essentially went viral. While reading the passage, I found myself very intrigued with how everyone inside had no idea what was happening.
They needed reassurance that their country was safe, how they could help, and why did this happen. Americans wanted to know that they would be secure, and that there would be justice for these attacks. They need George Bush, their president to assure them of this. The President had the task that day of letting the nation know what took place during the attacks. In order to do this, he needed to show the world that America is still strong, but he also needed to appeal to the emotions of his audience.
All of these events demonstrated that al-Qaeda could carry out terrifying attacks thousands of miles away from its base in Afghanistan. Al- qaeda’s leaders did not care about their gruesome actions. In their minds, God was on their side so they could do no wrong. Many people to this day still question our government about the 9/11 attacks and why someone did not take action before it got to this point.
Every American has some version of the events on September 11th solidified into their brain. The story usually goes like this: the Twin Towers were hit, so was the Pentagon, then each tower fell separately, and somewhere in there another plane was forcibly crashed into a field in Pennsylvania preventing another mass casualty but killing everyone aboard. This probably sounds familiar since is the typical version that you could expect to hear from an average American, even if said person was not alive during that time. This is the beaten path version, and it is not the version I am going to recount for you today. I have a slightly different perspective of that day of death and destruction in the US than the average story.
Numerous other buildings at the World Trade Center site in lower Manhattan were destroyed or badly damaged. The following days after the attacks were complete chaos, it took 99 days for the fires at Ground Zero
I read it in the newspaper, I heard it on the radio, I saw it on people 's eyes; it was real and that day will forever live in infamy. President Roosevelt was first to respond to the horror. So many American lives were lost. He talked of the attacks, but he also talked of what came next and I knew what that meant for me.
