An ideal member of the National Honor Society must demonstrate the following characteristics: Leadership, Service, and Character. To qualify for such a prestigious organization, one must qualify with a GPA of at least 3.5. Academically, I have been able to do so, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 4.11 and yet to receive an overall grade below A- in these past three semesters of High School. Moreover, I have been taking two languages, Malay and French, as well as juggling advanced classes such as Integrated Math Three Plus and IB Higher Level Biology Year One without a single preparation period. I thrive in the diverse environment of our school, befriending people of all races and ethnicities. Moreover, honesty and reliability are two characteristics which I believe I demonstrate consistently. Whenever I miss school, I take proactive actions, such as by always making sure to collect any missed homework or classwork I need to complete. Moreover, I make sure that I do not plagiarize any sources I utilize in research essays by always crediting the original author for his or her ideas. In class, instead of deviating away from the task and instructions provided by the teacher, I am punctual and make sure the task is finished, and done to the best of my ability with the element of faithfulness. Lastly, I take initiative in the subjects I feel strongly about, especially in Biology. After asking my Biology teacher, Ms. Kimberly Wilson, for some possible sites where I can read about the newest developments and research discoveries in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, I have been fuelling my interests in these fields. On the school-level, I commend myself as a good leader being a class officer of the Student Council in my Freshman and Sophomore years of High School. As a Student Council member, I need to promote activities, such as Spring Fest and SpeakOut, as well as make sure the students’ voices are conveyed to the Administration. I have helped organize events such as SpeakOut last year and the upcoming IdeaCon this year. Moreover, I am in charge of my grade’s finances, including fundraising to donate to a charity and fees for Prom. A few fundraising events in which our council has carried out include a Tie-Dye booth, countless bake sales, raffles, and the Color Fest. In addition to Student Council, I am responsible and dependable as a student and fellow peer. However, the reason why I feel I need to improve my leadership is because I need to demonstrate more leadership within the classroom. I will do this by speaking up more, offering opinions, giving feedback to the teachers on common issues all the students are facing, and so
