What is AAOP? AAOP stands for America’s Army our Profession. AAOP was made to inspire soldiers and civilians to recommit themselves to a culture of service and to follow the Army ethic and culture. They’re five characteristic’s to the Army profession and they are, trust, commitment to effective and ethical stewardship of the Army profession and to strengthen the Esprit de Corps. The United States Army was founded on the 3rd of June after the American Revolution ended. The Army’s main goal is to protect America and win any wars that comes our way. They are also like professional athletes because the soldiers of the Army strive to be the greatest at what they do. The Army Profession is a special combination of experts gifted with the knowledge of design, support vowing to serve and defend the constitution and the people of America. The Army Profession is made up of uniformed and non-uniformed members. Both Professionals have to take the Army oath and become sworn in. All Army Professionals have an obligation to gain knowledge and skills, then pass it on to their comrades. Trust is a key aspect of the Army Profession. The soldiers must have trust in faith in one another, knowing that they will be there when you need them. Soldiers also must have trust with their leaders because if they cannot trust their leaders why would they want to go to war with them? Families of the soldiers too must have trust in the Army to protect their father, brother, son etc. The American people must have trust in the Army to protect them and also not to commit any harsh or unmoral acts on …show more content…

The soldier must follow the laws of armed conflict and the rules of engagement. The Army Ethic is continuing the set of rules, beliefs, morals, and values rooted in the professional’s culture and influence’s the members to motivate and guide their peers toward a common goal. Sexual violence is an important issues in today’s Army because not only is it morally wrong it goes against all of the Army’s core values. Today you hear about high ranking officers getting dishonorably discharged out of the Army because of sexual assault. That’s why The Army is trying to change the way people look at them by making the AAOP to motivate and reassure soldiers of their duty to their country. The Esprit de Corps is the Army’s positive spirit to complete any barrier that stands in their way. This is especially helpful in combat situations with soldiers felling physical and emotional stress. Stewardship is the responsibility of the soldier or Army civilian to make sure the profession is carried on now and into the future generations. Stewardship makes Army professionals understand that their job is not just a job it is a way of life.
