The birth of Jesse James took place on September 5,1847 (britanica.com). Jesse was one of the most infamous criminals of all time. Jesse had an older brother named Alexander Franklyn James born on January 10,1843. Jesse and Frank James were born and raised on a Missouri farm. In 1861 when Jessie was only 13 years old the Civil War began, and Frank joined a Missouri militia company. When Jesse came of age, he joined Bill Andersons band of Guerrilla soldiers.

I decided to do my writing on James Earl Chaney. James Earl Chaney was born in Meridian, Mississippi in 1943. He also went to a catholic school for his first nine grades. He wore NAACP badges to school to mark support of the civil rights movement and was suspended by the principal that feared what an all-white school board would think about it. He joined the fight for freedom as a teenager by participating in bus protests in 1962.

His cousin Zerelda “Zee” Mimms who later married him helped him get better but some of his former war companions started robbing banks and stagecoaches. When he was better he got back to robbing with his companions and that's when he started his life of crime. In 1866 they robbed the Clay County Savings Bank and shot an innocent bystander.
He is reported to have participated in many bloody raids, and is credited with killing several men. After the war, his brother, Frank James, and Cole Younger formed a gang which Jesse soon joined. Over 15 years, the gang robbed numerous banks and trains, and killed anyone who got in the way. Several members of the gang were killed or arrested while robbing a bank in Northfield, Minnesota.
Later on December 7, 1869 Jesse and his brother walked into the Daviess County Savings Association and asked to exchange a $100 dollar banknote and shot the clerk (“Jesse James Bank robberies” n.d.). While this was not as lucrative as the last, it is said that Jesse killed the clerk for revenge, as Jesse thought he was Bloody Bill’s Murderer. (“Jesse James Bank robberies” n.d.). James also robbed the Nimrod Long Banking Co. and made off with nearly $14,000 (Jesse James Timeline 2015). Later in 1869, there was a $3,000 reward offered for the capture of Jesse James after him and his crew stole $700 from the Davies County Savings Bank.(Jesse James Timeline 2015).
