His legal birth name was Michael and his Father, Martin Luther king, changed their names when they went traveling to Germany and gt inspired from in honor to the German leader of the protestant of the reformed movement who was a priest in the 16th century. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on Jan. 15 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia and his father changed their names in the 1930’s when martin Luther King Jr. was around 5 years old. He was a middle child between an older sister and younger brother. His sister was called Willie Christine King, and his brother was called Alfred Daniel Williams King.

The activists had won some remarkable victories; among the most memorable as the 1954 predominant court resolution of Education, required all black and white students to be present at different schools were illegal, who happened to be the one who held that state laws. Nevertheless , these victories could not pull of pieces by the systemic racism that caused suffering to the country. It was in this environment, seeing the probability of an America where black and white citizens were frankly equal, that Martin Luther King, Jr. took part in the fighting for civil rights for black Americans.
By training a Baptist minister, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. searched for raising in the public awareness of racism, to end racial intolerance and segregation in the United States. At this time Black people were in-equal to White people and Martin Luther King was affected by this in his day to day routines. An example of the unjustness that Black Americans faced was when they wanted to eat at a restaurant then they had to sit in a separate section of the restaurant, or even when they wanted to buy shoes they were served at the back of the store.

Martin was baptized on May 1936. Then when Martin was 12 his grandmother , Jennie, died of a heart attack. This event was traumatic for him.

It was about six o'clock, Martin Luther King Junior was standing on the balcony of the second floor room at the Lorraine Motel, where he and his associates were staying. A few moments later he was shot in the neck with a sniper’s bullet, King was rushed to the hospital and about an hour later pronounced dead at the age of 39. News of King's death shocked Americans all over the country. His death caused rioting in more than 100 cities all over the country.
