The National Honors Society places a strong emphasis on the cornerstone traits of character, leadership, and service within the school and outside of school. I have met, and exceeded these qualities by being honest, assisting others, and participating in school activities. My character has always been an important aspect within my life. This is because character is comprised of honesty, selflessness, and compassion. No matter what the situation is, it has always been important to me to be honest with not just those around me, but with myself. For example, I once noticed that an instructor had given me a higher grade than I deserved on a quiz, and I never hesitated to report the mistake. Furthermore, I have also exemplified selflessness
What makes certain clothing respectable? By the way they are sewn or by the people that wear them, people have deemed some clothing to be more “respectable” than others. At Seton Hall Prep, students are required to wear a blazer, button down shirt, tie, and pants with a belt. To quote the Seton Hall Preparatory School’s student handbook, “it is our belief that one’s external appearance will reflect and also encourage certain internal attitudes that are essential to a Seton Hall Prep student.” Their philosophy presents that one’s first impression of their student will be that they are neat and orderly.
Then, the TV show Fresh Off the Boat came. I didn’t know what to expect in the beginning of watching this show, but this show showed me humor that allowed me to accept the stereotypes I face almost every day. This show is a recreated version of a book called Fresh Off the Boat written by a hip-hop loving chef, named Eddie Huang, on how he grew up as a Chinese kid in the 1990s. With the show he seems to act like an “OG” (Original Gangster) trying to live his life with the influence of many role models like, Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, Shaq and his video game Shaq Fu, and also many others.
Moment Differences In the world, we as a race have struggled with accepting the differences between our fellow-men and whether we actually accept them or merely tolerate them. This can be shown around the world however through one unfortunate accident Laramie Wyoming is plum smack in the middle of this chaotic mess and it led to a more specific examination of what people really think. It shows that people can tolerate anything, but that doesn 't mean they accept it.
I am very proud and grateful to say that I have been given the privilege of qualifying to join the National Honor Society. It would be, naturally, an honor to be a part of such a prestigious institution. However, to do so, one must epitomize its five tenets: character, responsibility, leadership, scholarship and service. Being an avid member in the community, I have grown to embody these traits. My experience and upholding of the fundamentals of character, leadership, scholarship, responsibility, and service will readily employ me to play a part in continuing the legacy that the National Honor Society possesses Though I am an active theatre-goer, I know that character is more than a part or role in a play.
I am always cheerful in and out of school, and I never try to show anything but cheerfulness towards people. Good character is a very good quality to have as a person, and for NJHS. I have the quality of a good character. I should be National Junior Honor Society because I have good character, citizenship, service, and leadership. I show citizenship in and out of the school every minute.
The Ones Who Were Misunderstood People are often judged on what one sees and the whispers they hear. Very few people take the time to understand the misunderstood. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the author uses metaphors to give a simple phrase a deeper meaning. The title of the novel is a metaphor to show the innocence of the characters in this novel. A mockingbird never does anything wrong, they are calm souls, all they do is sing.
Character My character merits selection into the National Honors Society in a variety of ways. My characteristics include, persevering in my studies, exemplifying beneficial qualities, and upholding principles of morality and ethics.
I encouraged new ideas- such as finding easier ways to improve fundraising- into meetings that would be beneficial to my class. I have set an example for my class by aiding with the pep rally-as well as participating in it- and helping to organize the Sophomore Semi. Being able to lead in these activities gave me a
I sacrificed my time to help plan for the Relay for Life. The Relay for Life event changed people's lives because it inspired them to donate money to cancer research and to help join the fight to end cancer. The character pillar has shaped by development by making the excellent choices. I started helping out for the community in any way possible. I have gained a lot of responsibility through the National Honor Society because I was responsible for writing a Relay for Life speech and delivering a speech for the American Cancer Society.
Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak is an interesting children’s picture book. The main character is a little boy named Max, who has a wild imagination. He uses all five senses as well as thought and his actions to express his personality as well as how he reacts and interacts with his surroundings. Max’s id, ego and super-ego are greatly shown in this book through the way that the author has portrayed him. Not only is this book a children’s story, but it can also be perceived as a life lesson.
