Night Circus Is a whimsical fantasy book that takes place in the 18 and 1900’s primarily in New York. However, the mysterious circus moves spontaneously to different cities like London and Paris. This novel for young adults was written by Erin Morgenstern to entertain his young adult audience with a thrilling, page-turning story about the peculiar Cirque des Rêves (Circus of Dreams). The time period within the novel is constantly changing from the past to present, which I did not like, because since read inconsistently, I had to go back into previous chapters to refresh my memory. This book was an enjoyable read. It was necessary to pay close attention in order to keep up with the plot and the changing time periods in every chapter. It is a perfect book for young adults and teens that enjoy books of fantasy and romance. Night Circus was a book that kept me so immersed in the story that I wanted to read it all in one sitting. However, this would not be possible because it is a little lengthy. I recommend reading this when the weekly schedule is not so convoluted. I overall liked this book, and I would probably pick it up again to give it a second read a few months from
The way that Michael Shaara has written this novel shows how truly wonderful he was as an entertaining writer. There was one thing that I did not like about it and that was the pace. I would have liked if the author would have written before the date of June 29th, and explained a little more of what was happening. Another little critique I would make would be to not drag on the days so intensely.
The book night is about a boy experience with his father in Nazi German concentration camps and how his journey going there in 1944 to 1945. The book is a memoir. He began at his hometown of sighet, in Hungarian Transylvania. He studied Talmud and Kabbalah. Moishe the beadle, is a poor foreigner Jew, who taught him a few about Kabbalah revelation and mysteries but it was short because one day all foreign Jews were expelled from sighet.
This book was interesting for me because it allowed me to relate to a character. I love reading novels that not only allow me to feel a connection with a character, but allow me to relate to their personality or
The Outsiders: Compare and Contrast In the novel “The Outsiders,” by S.E Hinton and the movie by Francis Ford Coppola have numerous similarities and differences. Our thoughts on these particular aspects are very diverse as the universe is. Many things have been either left out or diminished from the movie, which makes it less interesting as the suspense lessens as you have finished reading the book. Although this might be the case, there were also many similarities between the two sources.
It is a story about true friendship and living together in times where no one did. ‘The curious incident of the dog in the night-time’ is about a guy named Christopher. He is also mentally disabled and has ‘written’ this book himself. It is a story about betray and living in your own world.
I read the book Night Hoops, by: Carl Deuker. This book is about a boy named Nick that is dealing with some problems that are more than just basketball. He meets a boy names Trent Dawson who he was not too fond of at first, Trent is going through a lot more than Nick is in his home life, so Nick takes Trent under his wing to help keep him out of trouble. But at first Trent seems to resist and says he doesn’t need help. He ends up running out every night with his brother to get into some trouble.
Like when Janina and Misha were hiding from the Jackboots, I never wanted to stop reading so I could find out what happened. Overall, this book was great and it taught me alot about what people were feeling throughout this horrible
His main purpose of writng this novel was to ensure that the world knew everything about the life of a European Jew between the years of 1933-1945. He wanted for the people who haven't experienced the suffering of the concentration camps to get a detailed image about what their lives were like. The way he used imagery really made you feel as if you were there, which helped him establish his purpose of writing Night. For example, “The trees were in bloom. It was a year like so many others, with its spring, its engagements, its weddings, and its births.
It is a great love story only enhanced by the outlandish characters and constant mockery. The pacing of the novel is slow at first until half way through the first volume. The plot then accelerates and by the third volume it is hard to put down. Characters such as Mr. Collins, Mrs. Bennet, and Lady De Bourgh were all hysterical caricatures meant that livened up the novel during times when the plot was thin. The novel would not have been as cohesive or interesting without characters to add comic relief.

Night is told from the first person perspective of a twelve year old Jewish boy. In Night, Jews were discriminated against, captured and sent to concentration camps. Families were separated, women and children were killed and men played a game of survival of the fittest, in hopes of seeing better days. The “strongest” got to stay alive and were moved to another concentration campus, which might have been worse than the last, while the weaker ones were killed. Justice was presented at the advantage of the stronger in this novel because eventually Eliezer, the narrator was freed and able to account the horrible story of previous happenings.
Many people also feel that this book is irrelevant to student’s lives. However, kids should learn what life would be like for kids at their age in a different time period. Like what was stated before, in a history class, when we learn about the history, we learn about the straight facts, not as much of the personal lives of people living in that time. Since the novel is showing the personal recollections of one boy in the time period, students can identify the similarities between the two lessons. Since the similarities will be present, the students could make connections to both of the
Night by Elie Wiesel: Although Wiesel writes about his own experience in a concentration camp during the Holocaust, both books main characters are children who are asked to have courageous and brave acts through frightening moments. Rating:
As the past and future impose upon the present state, time reveals itself to be more of a rounded body which interacts in a way that defies the limitations created by the segmented chronicle. This way, the narrator remains constrained by the straight experience of his present state and the ability of change to happen in his memory, while time functions in a unpredictable way. Individuals are vulnerable against the principles of time, and ultimately the novela suggests that the power of the present, allows the individuals to change the meaning given to the past and
