I was trying to pass it up the field, but every kick came right back at me. The score 1-1, i’m desperately trying to keep the ball away from our goal but I kept missing the ball as the players weaved around me they get to the twenty yard line and shooting. Our biggest kicker on the team took the goal kick and the ball went straight to Aiden on the half field line. He took it up the field shot at the eighteenth and he shoots!!!
SWISH! GOOAL! The game is all tied up one to one in the 4 quarter. The Elder panthers got the ball taking it up the field toward our goal as I attack as he weaves around me leaving him wide open for a shot. He Shoots!!! But does he score?

Early next day I return to school and I get bombarded with questions about how I broke my ankle. But all had the same response,” In a soccer game.” 6 months later, “How much longer until I get my cast off?” I ask my mom, she responds,” Today’s the day” As she said that I get really happy but also become terrified at how they will get my cast off. We arrive at the Children's Hospital, as I arrive in the room to take my cast off they give me this weird gas that makes me sleepy. I fell asleep and woke back up at home. I ask my mom,” wha happen,” wait I meant to say what happened, but why did that come out. When I speak I feel a numb tingly feeling like my tongue was being poked with a bunch of tiny needles. I look all around me looking and observing everything,as if a scientist in a cave full of minerals and ores. Right behind me I see my mom as if she popped out of nowhere. She was silent as a mouse. I try to speak again guess what I said this time.”Way ant sigh stare norman,” as I meant to say, why can’t I speak normal. She told me to rest so I went back to sleep. I awoke when the sun was setting. I look out the square window looking at the beautiful big yellow ball of heat making bright beautiful colors, setting beneath the green trees. I try speaking again,” Mom?” I’m thinking finally I can speak normal. I look
I spun around and around looking for Mom. The Mom and Dad were both in front of me, holding on to my shoulders, trying to calm me down, trying to understand the words that I was saying over and over. I was ‘Erik.’ I was saying ‘Erik.’ Dad finally understood.
Almost immediately after I was subbed out, Edison scored with 30.6 seconds left. We failed to score again. 25-26, 23.3 seconds left. Edison ran down the court with the intention of running the clock out, but they made a bad pass! Destin made it down the court before everyone else, and Jayden chucked him the ball!
It's the last minute of our game against Fox Mills. We’re neck and neck. So close that the smallest mistake will determine our fate. I clutch the ball as tight as a hawk trying not to release its prey. Then I dribble as fast as a cheetah.
My coach comes rushing onto the field. He takes me off the field and says “Are you ok, do you need a doctor?” I say “ It hurts, but I don’t think I need a
I pulled out my phone and started to dial my mothers number when I heard footsteps approaching from behind. “excuse me,” said the softest voice I had ever heard in my life , she continued. “Do you know where the nearest movie theater is?”
I leaped as high as I could and unfortunately missed the tip the game was already heading south but the game had just started so we had no worries. The first quarter had several lead changes we both had bad shooting quarters shooting below the 30% but that wasn’t what mattered we were all worried about looking good as a team and winning the game not individual stats. About ¾ of the way through the first quarter our coach called a timeout and called us to the sideline and said “Guys you are a great group of kids and have made my coaching experience beyond expectable and you are a bright group of kids so after this season I’ll be retiring and making sure I go out with bang so win this game for me!” and that’s when the game took a drastic change, we began to play with our heart not just our
The score is now 3-1, the crowd roars energizing us to play football unlike any other. People stare in disbelief. With an extraordinary kick, the ball is flung pass the keeper into the top corner of the goal. Our goalie saving the impossible as the other team fights for redemption. Football is something special that only the players and the spectator's
Her clothes were smudged with dirt and sand and what seems like some type of chocolate colored stain run across her body. She walked towards me tripping over every dirty body and stepping on her own feet. “Get off the bed Inderoy” she boomed in a soft whisper. I glared at her and slowly climbed down the small ladder and tiptoed around the sleeping bodies to the doorway. I turned around and saw that my mom was already on the bed and in a deep sleep.
Throughout my life people have told me to have a goal; and not just the type I like to score in a soccer game. In life everyone hits a rough patch here and there, but the ones that exceed learn to solve problems. I am involved in sports here at prospect. I played varsity soccer this year and last year. Through my four years of playing, my coaches always told me a quote by hall of fame baseball player Derek Jeter.
Barely awake, I overheard my parent talking in the in the living room. Curiosity took over me as I slowly Got off my bed, silently crept into the hallway, and behind the wall. My brother Blake, who was also awakened, followed me. As we were listening, only one word hit me like my grandma slapping some sense into me. And it was that one word that destroyed my old life.
Near the end of the game, I am shaking. Inside the building in front of me, everyone is cheering. With one more chance to win the championship, it’s do or die.
We took a five-minute water break to try and regather our thoughts and to try and come back from this awful game against a group of social rejects. My hand had stopped bleeding by now and I was able to sign autographs for all the fans that had come out to see me play, but my hand was not well enough for me to start playing just yet. It was now around 5:30 so we continued the game so that it did not end too late. My teams goalie got the ball and passed it to David on the breakout pass, but David took only one step and Jason started charging towards him.
They kick their first ball we caught it. Kick after kick we still were catching them all. When we switch sides we scored 5 points before we switch again. It kept repeat then finally we won.
THE THING ABOUT TRYOUTS Swoosh! The ball went right past James’s hand. James was lucky, The kick was right outside the left of the left post. That was a good thing for James, because he was trying out for goalie for a very good team.
I heard the screeching whistle of the referee and I looked over my shoulder and thanked him for pausing the game for me to exit. I reached my coach and showed her my finger at first she didn't realize until I showed her my other finger that was a polar opposite. The trainer had got me ice for my monstrous purple and black finger as I sat on the cold, wet grass all the built of pressure released through my tears. I bent over my knees, holding my hand hoping the terrible pain would stop. The trainer was able to comfort me, but the only thing on my mind was the thought of going home.
