A Profession of Arms is an experience a person can’t truly understand if they never served in any type of militarize organization. Those who served must understand the culture, the history and they always have a reason why they volunteered. They must follow a certain code of conduct and discipline which often make them look or behave differently among others. I joined the Army for the transformation and to do something different comparing the friends that I grew up with. When I graduated from Basic and AIT my friends noticed the changes that occurred in my life when I returned home. I was not aware of the changes until they pointed out to me, and that is when I recognized the life transformation I endured during Boot Camp. A Profession is …show more content…
The people of the United States instilled great trust and confidence of the Army due to its history and professionalism, therefore the Army provided a better opportunity for the Soldiers after they services expired. The Veteran Jobs Mission is the leading private-sector solution addressing U.S. military veteran unemployment. Since then, the coalition has evolved to more than 200 private-sector companies that represent virtually every industry in the U.S. economy. Rebels Without a Cause Not very many people have affected me in the same way as my friend Jake Fernholz. I have never realized the influence he has had on me until someone pointed out that we talk and think the same way. I only met Jake two years ago in track, when a pulled hamstring injury caused Mr. Kellerman to have me practice with the long distance kids. Mr. Kellerman forced me into staying on the long distance team and that is where I started to hit it off with Jake. It took me a long time to be comfortable with Jake, but when I did we quickly found our common interests.
The VA has policies and guidelines that almost mirror the militaries’. For those service members who are ready to step into the civilian life, the process can be challenging. To transition from the structure and stability of military life into the seemingly chaotic and unorganized life of a civilian is daunting for most service members. It’s a process that takes many facets and can be different for everyone. Even though the process can be long and a bit shaky at times, the end goal is what drives veterans through until the end.

I was going through boxes looking for something, anything that would help me finish this project. My teacher just handed out an essay that we have to do on the history of a family member . My Dad told me if we have anything it would be in the trunk upstairs, but there were only trinkets in the trunk. I resorted to scavenging through the boxes in the attic. I gave up after finding nothing except a picture of some man sitting on a pony.
I learned that this career can take a lot out of you mentally, but gives you a look at what war is really
After days of searching for refuge, through the tangle of eroding, weather-beaten and fragmented hills, two score soldiers manned a military outpost where the borders of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan meet, was placed right before our eyes and it was like the sorrows which previously filled our bodies during our walk to this place, not knowing we would actually find any refuge, had almost fled from our minds, in hope that we would be accepted into this place ahead of us. As we drew nearer and nearer to the refuge, the wind picked up, our energy slowed down, his lips cracked and bled and the sparse energy left in me completely drained out of me and I collapsed onto the ground. Moments later, my head was being cradled in the crook of his arm and I felt the drops of water trickling down my face and onto my eyes, clearing the sand and dust which allowed me to slightly flicker my eyes open to see so many unfamiliar faces staring down at me and the only familiar face, my lover, reached his hands to mine and gently pulled me into his arms, guiding me to a hut which we have been allowed in for as
I am that kid. You know that kid. I am that kid who sings, but hates listening to their own voice. I loathe hearing the sound in videos and recordings.
Still they are helpful but should stuff really be getting worse for people who put their lives at risk. As weapons get more advanced the danger gets more real. As we move forwards the benefits move backwards. Some of these things consist of college but you can’t choose your degree. There are certain things that you have to major in.
This finding also show that there is a need to make more efforts in making military skills in line with civilian vocations. In a poll conducted in 2010 by the Society of Human Resources Management found that 60% of employers felt that veterans often had difficulty translating military experiences into civilian job experiences (Faurer, Rogers-Brodersen, & Bailie, 2014). In contrast, the literature review also found that there is a perceived notion of discrimination from some employers, who did not show complete trust in hiring veterans for reasons such as PTSD. A study by The George W. Bush Institute in Dallas, Texas (XXXX), on issues affecting veterans who have served since 9/11 confirms this issue. They found that employers sometimes cite
Veterans are some of the bravest men and women that you will ever know. They fought for our country in our most desperate hours and risked their lives so we could have the chance to live ours. It is such a shame that they are ignored and even homeless in today 's society. I had wondered how we could get veterans of the street and back into the job world. After research I found that there are programs and methods put in place specifically to help these struggling veterans.
The HR Sergeant is responsible for processing Soldiers pay, maintaining records, filing packets for promotions and essentially keeping the profession willing to push on with little to no distractions. A machine needs support to keep moving and it is the HR Sergeant providing support to Soldiers keeping the machine going. If Soldiers feel neglected, they are less likely to strive to become the experts needed. HR Sergeants have to mentor Soldiers on what documents they need to process and update outside sources of a Soldier’s status. In this way, the HR Sergeants role demonstrates the professions ability to perform.
Hey Molly, I think it’s awesome that you are an Expert Marksman! I can hit a clay pidgin with a shotgun, but that’s about it. I know what you mean about being talkative until it’s something you’re required to do, not to mention graded on. I can be a perfectionist sometimes and the English language isn’t my strongest point, so I can get kind of freaked out myself putting a weakness on display like that. Still I think this class has the potential to be a lot of fun.
2. Are you enrolled in school and furthering your education in some capacity, whether it be certifications and or a degree(s), and tracking your education needed for your military career? 3. Along with being deployed some of my learned skills were acquired when I was assigned as a Fury FSC retention NCO two years ago, and my job was to educate soldiers about what they qualified for and other entitlements. Even though the soldier already knew the skills needed in the Army and had knowledge of the Army, I still had to persuade individuals to why they should reenlist. This required some craftiness on my part as some of these soldiers needed to hear something that they haven't heard
