Personal Narrative: What I Learned In My English Class

I believe that I have learned many useful lessons this semester. At the start of this semester I honestly did not know how to write a proper essay. There were several big problems with my writing style. My poor grammar and lack-luster writing skills were a real problem. I feel more confident now that I have written some decent papers and come close to completing my first English class. I feel like I have made a lot of progress in this course. I believe that I am better prepared for future writing assignments. This semester I believe that I have learned how to write better, how to incorporate source material, and how to write in MLA format.
This semester I believe that I have considerably improved my writing skills. At the start of this course I could barely write a coherent paragraph. I believe that I can now write a passable academic essay. I have grown much more confident in my writing skills. This class has been exceptionally helpful in teaching me how to write properly. I believe that I have gained a lot of useful information from this class. Even though i know there are still some serious issues with my writing, I am not going to be discouraged. It seems hard to believe that I could not write an MLA style paper at the start of the semester. Now, after I have spent so much time forcing the rules into my head, it feels second nature to write in this style. There seemed like way too many rules to keep up with them all. Double spacing, precise margins, and a specific way to orient the pages seemed difficult. And while there was definitely a learning curve, it turned out to be fairly simple.
