There is an ongoing debate whether or not competitive sports are good for kids some people think that competitive sports are good because it helps you stay fit. Other People think it is not good because of the injuries in the games. I will be talking about how competitive sport put too much stress on kids. That this stress can happen. That the coach can be a little too harsh on the kids and the win or lose situation were kid play sport a while then people start keeping score and can not handle losing. According to kids and competitive sports that one reason that I believe this is because organized sports are a high stress level and most that kids can not handle it so they quit the sports on the age of 12. One reason Teens should not be allowed to play professional sports is that most kids get burned out at the age of 9 or 10. This shows that some kids aged 9 or 10 get burned out most of the time when they go pro. A major reason is that sports keep kids healthy. R. Dawn Comstock, an investigator at the Center for Injury Research and Policy stated “We have an epidemic of obesity in this country, and sports is one of the ways for kids to incorporate exercise in their lives” (qtd. in Perkel 2) . I’ve seen kids drop out of sports time and time again. Talented children who pour their hearts into youth sports in elementary school will stop playing because it’s just not fun for them anymore. Frances is a field hockey player for her school team. One day, she got her report card and saw she got a C+ in Spanish. The next day at practice, her coach told her she was off the team--Even though Frances had been trying her best in Spanish. Frances thought this was unfair and ceased putting effort into Spanish. This is an example of how a child could be negatively by the No Pass, No Play rule.
Youth Sports Everyone enjoys going to watch a little sibling playing soccer or playing baseball. As a parent or older family member, you enjoy watching kids having fun and playing together.
