High school and jr.high athletics are very beneficial to every student that is involved with them. In jr.high they allow and help the kids to learn for high school sports and grow and mature at teenagers, it also helps them make friends and allows them to be a lot more comfortable with others. In high school it's the same but instead it helps develop the athlete for the collegiate level if they're going to play at that level. Every student should try to be on a sports team at least once. There are many reason some parents wouldn't want their children to play sports. Now not all of those reasons are good ones but some of them can be pretty reasonable. One of the most reasonable reasons why a parent wouldn't is the risk of injury to their child and there are many ways for them to get injured. There is torn muscles, broken bones, concussions and many more that a parent is scared of happening to …show more content…
Whether it's football, basketball, cross country it's going to help the athlete grow and become mature. If the child doesn't like the sport they don't even have to do it anymore and they can only do it once. But every kid should do it because if they don't they could regret never doing to when they grow up and being in a sport is one of the best experiences a kid will ever have. A sports team is like a athletes second family, a band of brothers as the football team says and they will be there for you whenever you need them. The coaches are like the parents of the team and they will also be there for all of the athletes whether it's academically or if they need any kind of advice that theere in need of that they're to scared to ask their parents . A child will never regret the decision of joining a sport and people can only hope that every kid should experience that feeling at least one time in there life that way they won't regret ever not doing
Persuasive Paragraph Grandview Middle School should have sixth grade sports. I believe there should be sixth grade sports because kids will spend less time on the couch. Also , kids can learn how to do their favorite sport. Lastly, kids can also have more time to socialize. “Even Dr.Chassion agrees that there should be sixth grade sports.
Children with good confidence will most likely not feel depressed if they don’t make a certain team. They will be confident enough to be able to move on and keep trying. This is very important because most athletes will not get anywhere in their career without having confidence. This is because confidence allows an athlete to keep improving, without being traumatized after being cut from a team. According to Brooke De Lench from the Moms Team, “...a child with a healthy self-image will not unduly suffer from being cut, and will simply find another sport or extracurricular activity in which they might excel.”
While some believe that athletes should have their own choice at making a decision to go pro straight out of high school, they should not do so because they will not be able to manage their million dollar contracts respectively. Speaking of contracts, the NBA should eliminate guaranteed contracts for rookies drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. They should do this because a careless high school kid, could just go into the draft not knowing, or caring on how much they are going to make, with the lack of experience on handling millions of dollars. This is very unrepsonsibible for a teenager, and not only for the high school athlete, but also for the basketball association as well. This is because of there noncommitment to have these players
High School Sports Should be Funded Every year 300,000 students are participating in sports (Gould 1). The School District has been funding the athletics program, which has been benefiting many of the students’ lives for several years. The discontinuation of high school sports will cause many students to loose the health, social and educational benefits provided by participating in athletics. The School District should continue to fund sports because they benefit students.
It is a great way to develop the lifestyle of a child. Sports in my opinion shapes the
Have you ever wanted to live an active and healthy life, as well as an improvement in grades? I believe youth sports will help all of those problems and many more. Most sports are team sports that also teach your child teamwork. Playing youth sports is a terrific experience for you or your child. There are many reasons why I feel that children should play youth sports.
Coaches should teach the children how to have fun, the rules of the game, and leave the strategizing out of the whole thing. Lastly to quit playing so many games at the youth level and spend a lot more time on practicing fundamentals. If you were in a school place and you had a test (a game) every other day and very little teaching of the fundamentals and studying (practices), kids would fail all the tests. We have set kids up for failure in sports by having so many games and so few practices. Shuman3
These coaches help the athletes throughout the whole entire year, they help you reach the next level, they are concerned about feelings and the way they are doing in school. Not saying that high school coaches don’t do the same, but they don’t take it as serious. High school coaches are there to win games and get payed is what it seems like
Dr. Frank L. Smoll states, “All children and youth need vigorous physical activity as part of their daily lives, and sports provide the benefits of exercise and the potential for acquiring a sense of accomplishment.” (Smoll 1/2).
Youth Sports Are Worth It By:Bryant Haris Imagine being able to go to Tukes Valley Middle School and just waiting to play some competitive football with your friends. That isn't going to happen though unless the Battleground school district decides to let the battleground schools have after school sports. One of the reasons that the Battleground school district should offer sports at the middle school level is because it can help kids behave.
While some parents believe that the competition can harm kids, I believe that sports can greatly help kids. Making them experience healthy competition and become more well rounded contributing members of society. The first reason that I believe supports my claim is that kids gain a sense of healthy competition that can prepare them for life. This can be seen in the article “Pros and Cons of Sports Competition at the High School Level” where Grace Chen, an education researcher, writer, and educator, states that sports and competition, “...help teens develop an array of personal skills, including resilience, attitude control, time management, and long term thinking abilities” (Chen 6).
Some may argue that playing sports in high school will take time away from academics. Sports can consume a lot of time and energy at the expense of school work and some feel that this can cost
Kids look up to their parents and coaches and would never want to disappoint them. The parents and coaches being the role models they are for the kids, that makes the pressure even more effective. Many kids around the United States have been leaving
The author Thelma Gomez, says “Playing sports is an important elemen5t in the lives of many American children.” And she is correct. Sports can make kids the next David Wright, the next LeBron James, the next Eli Manning, or the next Lionel Messi. The best part of sports is that you're improving your physical health, psychological health, social skills, and academic benefits. Physical and phychological health can benefit a child in many ways.
Sports provide opportunities to explore and develop young athletes. Young athletes can identify themselves apart from playing sports through connecting with others and building new relationships
