They may have banned slavery, but racism still occurs today in this world. We can stop the racism. No matter what you look like, we are all human. Skin color does not matter whatsoever. We all have a brain and a heart and of course feelings, “... all men are equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
No matter what your skin color is, it doesn’t affect your rights. Even after we made laws against slavery, this doesn’t mean that it ended racism. “...one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free.” People still looked at blacks in a different way than whites. In the Declaration of Independence, it states all men are equal. Nothing was said about skin color. We all are human and are provided with the same rights. We all have a bain and a heart which classifies us alive/ human.
We are all human. We are 99.9% the same. The other percent is what makes us who we are. We are the change! We are the difference! August 28th, 1963, Mr. King gave his, “I Have a Dream” speech. He spoke his dream of one day where everyone is treated equally. “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Yes, racism has decreased since his speech, but it is still very much alive and so real.
