They are continuously hailed as the number one supermarket for customer satisfaction and one of Fortune’s 100 and 500 best companies to work for. With continuous growth, it is important to evaluate their legal and ethical policies (“We Are Publix”, n.d.). Publix values their employees and indicate their employees are the company. Their Human Resource Representatives ensure their ethical policy is monitored by assisting in defining standards for the delivery of phenomenal customer service. They survey every Publix associate annually for feedback on leadership, compensation packages, policies, and business tools. They believe in promoting diversity

The Fortune 500 company that I chose is Nordstrom. Nordstrom is a major department department store in the United States. On their website under investor relations they have a Code of Business conduct and Ethics and it wasn’t too difficult to find. Their code of business conduct and ethics is 12 pages long. To me that means that this topic is something that is very important to the company and being such a large company I can see why it is.
Importance of Morals in Business Over the past decade there are many examples of why morals are important in a business. Without morals, businesses lack ethical and legal decision making. Introduction The key ethical issues that were presented in this case study were quality control, lack of customer care, responsiveness, and harming the customer. The Johnson and Johnson case may have been seen as a turning point due to many things the company did right.
