I will use not only this degree, but the knowledge that I have obtained from pursuing it, throughout the rest of my life. I believe that post-secondary education is crucial, because it builds off of the basis of knowledge received in high school. In this day and age, employers in nearly every field expect some type of degree, in addition to a high school diploma. Simple hard work and willingness to learn isn 't enough to secure a position in the Business Administration field that I would like to go into.

Pursuing my college degree has been a long time goal because it will help me achieve more career advancement with greater financial rewards. When I first started in Business Management 30 years ago, I viewed a degree as more of a luxury. In today’s competitive job market, I view it as a necessity for continued career growth.
Earning a college degree is one of the achievements many of our descendants have had the honor of receiving a diploma showing there accomplishment of completing their education to become a master at what they do. As it was many years ago when you got an education it was almost like an apprenticeship in which you would learn from a mater individual and then receive what today we would call a diploma. Back then though it was more or less a verbal agreement that you had advanced through the ranks of learning and had become capable of running the show all by yourself. Although this was probably less expensive than most colleges today, it took many, many years to become a master at your trade, and often times it was difficult to open your own shop.
There are many reason why I am pursuing a college degree, but the main one is so that I can do something I love. While there are many different types of jobs out there what I want is a career that I will enjoy going to. In order for me to do that though I must get the necessary education and experience. The thing that I love to do is mess around with computers and electronics in general, it requires me to know what I want to do. At Valpo I’ll be able to get the education I need to do that.
My purpose of attending college is because I want to make a change in my family. When all your life you’ve seen what your parents have sacrificed for you, all you want to do is make them proud and potentially give them more than they gave you. Although all parents sacrifice things for their kids every story has its different ups and downs. My parents taught me that hard work and dedication is where you’ll go far. They always believed in me and always told me to reach for the stars.
What resonates with me and sets Bennington apart from other colleges is the FWT. It’s unheard of for a college to require their students to become invested in their careers long before they’ve begun, and within the fields they’ll be involved in for the rest of their lives. Because interning and working related to one’s career is only encouraged in college but not required, students overlook the importance of being actively involved with their futures from early on. Honestly speaking, I was of one of those students. I wouldn’t have been as open to doing as frequent and prolonged internships as Bennington requires, and this is mostly because balancing academics with my career hasn't come easy.
This includes helping you get accustomed to the workload you will have in the career because sometimes you will have to stay up late to finish work and study. College will also give you exposure to special and expensive labs and technologies. It also gives you the basic information you need to know and understand. Without a higher education, I would not have those same resources.
