Picture it: the friendly resident assistant helping her resident when she has a tough problem. Maybe the resident is locked out of her dorm, or is having roommate struggles, or even just has general stress with school work. I would like to be that resident assistant helping that girl, and I feel that I could fill this potential position. Working as a Resident Assistant has many benefits and potential positive outcomes. Some of these include the ability to meet new people as well as getting to know them better, being a mentor to residents, and learning from the people you are mentoring or meeting. I have always loved meeting new people, even as a child with meeting my parents’ friends, and I feel that having the resident assistant position will give me the opportunity to meet many people that I would have been unable to meet otherwise. Similar to my love of meeting new people, I have wanted to mentor people for a long time, but have been unable to exactly reach that position that I have been aiming for, of those my age or a little younger. Previously, I tutored and mentored elementary students, and I loved the position, although it was not what I had been reaching for. The benefit of the resident assistant position is that I would have the opportunity to have …show more content…
I am a people person. I love chatting with new people, when I get the chances to, and I must admit that I have to get out of my shell and comfort zone a little more. I am a responsible person and student and can help keep the residents in line when rules have been broken, though I can also help them when they need RA help. I manage time very wisely, as seen by the amounts of organizations I have joined throughout the past years, and the fact that I have kept up a great grade point average. These are all great skills and attitudes that I think are important for a RA, and I feel that I encompass them
At seven in the morning on July 20, 2015 I arrived at LNA Health Careers School in Concord to a start of a big step in my life, not knowing what to really expect. I knew that going into this school that I would be with a wide variety of different ages. My fear was that I wouldn’t fit in and that I would be with a lot of older individuals. I continued to walk in, this is something I really wanted and knew that even if I didn’t fit in, it didn’t matter because this

The University of Arkansas has a thriving student population that combines countless cultural backgrounds. By living on campus, I’ve been able to learn about and appreciate various cultures and their practices, permitting new relationships to grow and prosper. Because of this, I want to be the one who facilitates healthy relationships among residents. Through these relationships, a positive and comfortable atmosphere would be created. I believe that personal and academic success is directly related to a good home-base, so I want to be able to create such a place for residents.
After glancing over the criteria this course provides, I am very excited to have the opportunity to learn more about the qualities of a Residence Assistance. After I have finished this course, the four things I hope to have learned are, a wide knowledge about how to excel as a Resident Assistant, tips on how to manage work, social, and student life as an RA, ideas of how to present material to diverse cultural backgrounds, and helpful ways to build upon leadership qualities. My Idea of the Primary Role of an RA I live in Woody/Shales in the Lafollette complex and from my community and interaction with my RA, I have noticed that my RA is not very social.
Thank you for taking the time to review my personal statement on why I have chosen to embark on the journey to become a Physician Assistant. My story started several years ago, more than I care to count, when I stumbled into the health care world as a paramedic in rural Pennsylvanian. While in high school, I became friends with several other students who were actively volunteering with a local fire department. After hearing their stories about the things they were learning and doing I also joined a volunteer fire department, mostly out of curiosity. Over the course of a couple of years I discovered that the challenges that I encountered during training and responding to emergencies had unlocked some unrealized, more like unknown, drive inside
If you were to ask me a year ago what the purpose of a resident assistant is, I probably would have said “to be the parent of the dorm.” While in many ways this statement is true, I know now that an RA's role extends deeper than the statement portrays. My second year of living on campus has allowed me to observe a few of the overlooked duties of an RA such as updating residents on resources through bulletin boards and maintaining discipline by enforcing quiet hours. Summarizing just a few of my observations, I can confidentially say that an RA's responsibility as a "parent" includes maintaining good order in the residence hall, maintaining a positive living environment, and promoting academic, personal and social growth among students. Resident
Good Morning, I am reaching you because I am really interested in applying to be a Resident Assistant. Unfortunately, I missed the interest session because I thought all the process regarding the application was going to be in the spring semester. I wonder is there is any way I can still apply. I would love to be part of the team and do anything I can to be part of it. Please let me know.
Resident Advisors fulfill many requirements from mentor to role model to someone of spectacular organizational skills. It’s important for a Resident Advisor to be someone that residents can come to when they’re struggling in any aspect of their life and that advisor can direct them to the resources that are available here on campus for that problem. I understand that it would be my responsibility to create a safe space for my residents where they feel that they can be themselves and that they are at home. It’s also my responsibility to watch out for the well-being of my residents since for many of them this will be the first time they will be away from home. I believe that an excellent Resident Advisor ensures that each and every resident
Re: Letter of Recommendation for Joshua Whiting To The RA Selection Committee: I write on behalf of Joshua Whiting’s application for a Resident Assistant position. I believe Josh to be an exemplary student-scholar as well as a person of tremendous character with significant leadership skills. I met Josh in my first semester of college in our biology class. We were both Biochemistry majors so we got to skip Biology 1 and therefore were both new to this new world of college but already in a group full of sophomores and students who had been in college for multiple semesters. Naturally we gravitated to each other due to this aspect we had in common.
It 's true, not everyone is fit to be a CNA. Being able to care for the elderly and bring happiness to their day, brings happiness to my day. The special calling to bring others joy, is extraordinarily rewarding. As a Certified Nursing Assistant you provide in the basic care and safety to patients as well as assist them with activities of daily living. Daily duties are given to CNA’s by the supervising RN, often referred to as Charge Nurse.
If I was to become an RA, I would like to build connections with both my residents and my fellow Resident Assistants by holding events and working to build a diverse, caring community. I think connection can have a big effect on the RA staff as connection leads to better teamwork and collaboration, meaning the RA staff would work together more cohesively and thus make the experience of the residents more enjoyable. Building connections with and between your residents can have a very positive effect, as not only will they have a support system in place, they will also have a safe place to find friends, learn about differences among people, and find their place within the Geneseo community. Connection, in my opinion, can significantly improve one's experience in the residence hall and the Geneseo community at
Being well-liked and well-respected are both very important facets of being a Resident Assistant (RA). Despite this, for any leader being well-respected is more important than being well-liked. Being well-liked is important when regarding floor events and connecting with your community. This is because if the community likes their RA they will be far more inclined to attend events and communicate with them. This is beneficial for fostering a sense of community amongst residents.
In my previous working experience, which I have been employed privately to look after an elderly women for two and half years in the north London area, where I was responsible for her general safety and personal hygiene, including preparing her food, shopping and washing up. Unfortunately, her condition had become worst, and she was required to attend the hospital, when I was no longer needed to provide my services I decided to follow in pursuit my lifetime ambition to become a professional in the sector of Health and Social Care. I have a calm caring nature, with a positive, smiley attitude towards life. I enjoy socializing and meeting new people. I enjoy listening to all sorts of music and walks in local
I believe a job as a certified nurse assistant will give me a better insight while working beside nurses and observe what set of skills nurses use. My strengths that best suit my personality and this program are determination, effort, caring, critical thinker, discipline, and enthusiastic. These qualities would reflect on a nurse and would make caring for the patient easier. I believe that I belong in the nursing field, because ever since I was a child, I always wanted to make a positive influence in people's lives.
