The Grinch Who Stole Christmas The Grinch who stole Christmas is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books and one of my favorite Christmas movies. I found 3 things similar to one another in the book and the movie which had the Grinch who hated Christmas, the Who’s who loved Christmas, and the Grinch stole all of the presents and food. One identical thing I found in the movie and book was that the Grinch hated Christmas. If they didn’t put the Grinch’s hate for Christmas in both the book and, he would have no reason to steal Christmas and it wouldn’t have been a very good movie. The second comparison between the book and the movie was Who’s love for Christmas. The differences are that in the book, are the color of the Grinch, the Sleigh at the top of the mountain, and the age of Cindy Lu Who. The first contrast I found between the book and the movie was the color of the Grinch. In the book, the Grinch has no color and is black and white. In the movie, the Grinch is green. I don’t know why they decided that he should be green when he could've been any other color. Another difference I found was the Sleigh at the top of the mountain. In the movie, the sleigh starts to fall of Mt. Crumpet until the Grinch uses his strength to lift the sleigh and save it from falling. In the book, this doesn't happen. Instead they just show the Grinch realizing the true meaning of Christmas and going back to Whoville to return the presents. The last distinction I found was the age of Cindy Lu. In the book, the say that Cindy Lu was no more than two. But in the movie, she looks older than two. Cindy Lu has a bigger role in the movie than the book. I found many differences in the book and movie. I still think that even with these changes, the Grinch will always be a great
