The Way I Learn
“ What we learn with pleasure we never forget” by Alfred Mercier is an engraved plaque that sits on my desk in my classroom. I read this quote to myself everyday before class to inspire me, and remind me of the special person who gave me such an inspiring gift to me. I received this gift from the first student I tutored that set me on the path to become a teacher. But it took this class in Eductional Pyscholgy to make me really appreciate its meaning. It was through this person and class, I ‘ve grasped that people learn in many different ways, and by embracing the importance of this learning style’s for myself as well as in teaching exerts a powerful influence on a child’s ablity to do well in school. The first major task

Next in planing by lessons I will make sure to incorporate 3 of the 8 areas in each lesson. For example if we are studing a unit on trees I will have a movement song about the parts of the trees, this way I have both musical and kinestheic learners engaged in a fun activeity. Naturalistc learners , I will do some lessons outside and a field trip to local nature center. For the interapersonal learners they will create portfolio’s of their choosen work to share with others and parents during conference time. The interpersonal learners will enjoy doing group work such the must writing and preforming a play about a given subject matter within the unit. Math and logical learns will enjoy more problem solving approaches in math and science experiments. Linquistic learns will write stores about what they are studing and for my visual spatial learners lots of art work, graphs and charts aroud about the room and in lessons for them to do. Outside ot the classroom I will collabrate with other teachers for ideas to make learning new and fun for my
People learn in many different ways. As we mature, we learn to use different learning styles. Adolescents, on the other hand, are just figuring out what style of learning best speaks to them. Teachers must be aware of this and find a way to teach that speaks to multiple students on multiple levels instead of using a “one style fits all” approach. This paper will cover different learning styles and the implications this can have on how educators teach their students.
If the teacher speaks every time, students won’t learn anything because we are telling them how to solve and work on the word problem. If the students work and we assist them through question, they will understand how to solve the problem. In my first year of teaching, I was talking and giving students everything they needed to know. In this new school year, I will take my students and use the real world activities. For example: Let the students walk around and use the materials to measure the things they see in their campus.
Everyone has traveled a different road to get to where they are today. Some roads may have felt longer and more rough, but they were worth the ride. My road to literacy started out on what I would call a dirt road that had a steep incline. What I could not see at that time was that once I got to the top, I had a smooth ride ahead of me. If I would look back at how far I have travelled I would say it was worth it all the struggles along the way, but what is important is the sponsors I had that pushed me along the way.
Before entering this class I thought I was a well written writer, although as I continued to come to class and work on assignments I then had realized I could use alittle improving. Writing seems to come very naturally for me because I write all the time. I tend to write poetry to express what i 'm feeling at times, it is how I ventilate what it is that I am feeling. So when thinking about topics it is not very difficult for me due to the fact that most of the time I know exactly what it is I would like to write about. Taking this class has showed me how to be a more effective writer and a more effective researcher.
There are certain activities that can engage and motivate the learner, this could be cube which gets passed to different students and there is a question on the side of the cube that they have to ask, also reward cards are used this would be if a student has worked well and remained focused then they would get a reward for that. Also some students are encouraged to use a Blurt book this is where the student can write something down as soon as they think of something so that they do not forget what they have thought
Who I am as a learner. Well let me start by letting me tell you that I am a very good at swimming so good went to nationals this summer ,I placed 2nd overall in my age division. This summer I also placed 1 in my best stroke which is breaststroke. When I was in third grade it was New Years Day and I was at my Grandma 's house when his dog attacked me.
I believe that I have learned many useful lessons this semester. At the start of this semester I honestly did not know how to write a proper essay. There were several big problems with my writing style. My poor grammar and lack-luster writing skills were a real problem. I feel more confident now that I have written some decent papers and come close to completing my first English class.
Who I am II as a learner In school I am a kid that doesn 't talk that much, and doesn 't get In the conversation. But as I 'm getting better and better In school am hoping to get 5-6 grades. And past first semester my goal Is to get 6 and 8-7 grades. I am a risk taker Im my way I don 't do what the teacher said and bring It to the next level.
My learning pattern is sequence with a score of 30, precision score of 28, technical reasoning score of 22, and confluence score of 17. I discovered from taking the learning pattern inventory that I am a dynamic learner. The definition of a dynamic learner uses the LCI scale scores of an individual who uses one or two Patterns at the Use First level and any other combination of Avoid or Use as Needed for the remaining Patterns. My personal learning pattern: Sequence- By working as a collection agent, I starts my morning off by listening to all my messages and reviewing all my promise to pay customers to see if they were going to keep their promise to pay.
One of the teaching strategies that I would do is allowing the children to have a choice on what they are doing from a selection of activities. I think it is important for them to start learning how to make decisions without a lot of guidance and to understand what their decisions mean. I will allow the children to pick from three different activities. Each of the lessons will teach the children the same subject, but is in different form. Another reason why I would allow the children to have a choice in the activity they do is to help reduce the child from feeling bored.
3a. Selecting learning activities based on prior knowledge and other assets As an art teacher, I teach in ways that students are interested and engaged in the lesson. I also make the projects where students feel a sense of accomplishment. I teach two Art Fundamentals classes, one of which is the class with the Multiple Disabilities program.
Through this activity, the teachers assure that the learners are able to participate fully in the curriculum. As the supports given by the teacher the learners allow them to transfer their skills and knowledge to
“If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow,” this quote is said by the famous John Dewey who created the Dewey Decimal System. This quote inspires me as a teacher because I strive to teach students in innovative ways that will help them understand the topic and I follow their cues when teaching to determine what I can teach them that day. For example, if they’re too energetic and squirmy, I will take them outside for a lesson to try to get their energy out instead of keeping them in the classroom. I try as a teacher to learn with them and to help them instead of forcing them to do things they don’t want. This is only one part of my philosophy as a teacher.
It is my goal to make sure students are not just memorizing facts, but are actually understanding. They should be able to take the lesson and apply it to other areas of their lives. I believe students need to be assessed frequently and routinely. The students need accurate and effective feedback, so they can make any necessary adjustments.
Now, having no official teaching experience before, I was startled when it came time for me to design the lesson plan. My students knew literally nothing and my aims were manifold. Rather intuitively, I realized my lessons should be based on my students’ needs, so first I conducted introductory informal interviews about their goals and expectations and later while observing progress and dynamics in class, I would adjust some of the topics and activities to better suit my students’ needs. Clearly, my major goal was to improve their communicative competence, but I also kept in mind that both groups took my classes as an extracurricular activity, so I had to present these two hours in form of enjoyable intellectual stimulation, rather than a standard lesson, so it had to be structured in a way that would combine different types of activities while also engaging all four
