Some people plan travel for vacations. They research on activities, places they want to explore, or foods they want to eat, then set the plans in limited time. Of course, purposes of travel can be individually different. If they go with a lot of people, the plans have to be more detailed, and measurable to complete all the places they want to go. Also, setting a specific plan is significant for organizations to achieve goals. Tennessee Department of Education recently succeeded education improvement, then set three strategic plans to achieve goal in another new five years for next step; rank in the top half of states on the National Assessment of Educational Progress, have an average ACT composite score of 21 by 2020, and have a majority of high school graduates from the class of 2020 to earn a postsecondary certificate, diploma or degree (McCoy & Lydia X., 2015). In the wake of a nation wide epidemic, how will our nation’s schools rehabilitate to provide for our students? Education reform has circulated at our nation’s capitol looking for ways improve the current public education system. The Obama administration has launched its own efforts to contribute to education reform. One of these efforts has been the implementation of national standards known as the Common Core. The Common Core calls for states to adopt common standards.
They plan to be strongly committed to getting high school students career and college ready. New Mexico received top marks in “Indicators”, “Supporting Schools” and “Continuous Improvement”. They did a great job of including meaningful non-academic indicators to assess student success over time such as measuring growth of the lowest-performing students, extended-year graduation rates, chronic absenteeism and college readiness. When it comes to “Supporting Schools” while it felt short in providing details on how it will implement interventions in low-performing schools, it did an excellent job stating what action will be taken in schools that fail to improve in a span of 3 years after being identified as low-performing. As for “Continuous Improvement” New Mexico has outlined ways it will continue to engage stakeholders on their implementation efforts which include developing future science assessments, and an “Opportunity-to-learn” survey.

Every year, we plan different locations and make all traveling arrangements ahead of time. Last summer, we planned out a trip to Sierra Leone. We were all excited and looking forward to a very relaxing time after working very hard.
