America...what does it mean? Why does everyone want to live here? What does it mean to me? The United States can be seen as a box of colorful pencils. If we don’t use all the colors the picture will never be finished. The most important colors are red, white, and blue. These three colors represent hope, equality, and perseverance. The one thing that is most important about our country is the freedom that we have here. We are some of the most privileged people in this world, but we don’t notice it throughout our everyday lives. Far too many people take for granted what it means to be an American. We as Americans are able to live our lives to the fullest. We sometimes relate it to sitting at a baseball game eating hot dogs or going to church on a Sunday morning with our family. To be American is …show more content…
Bravery is people who are afraid but still go after what they know is right even if it scares them. Men and women today are fighting for our freedom and our rights as human beings. The brave souls that have died for us are some of the bravest people known to man. We tend to think of bravery as signing up for a school talent show or singing in front of an audience, but we never really look at the big picture. Bravery is going into battle with the knowledge that you could either live or die, knowing that you might not come back home to your family. This country has been fighting wars for centuries upon centuries. Our ancestors had the courage to fight for our freedoms that we enjoy today. An example of courage is the Pilgrims leaving Britain and their harsh laws for a new land where they could worship God freely the way they had done in secret. Later, they would stand up to Mother England and fight in a war to defend their new country and beliefs. There are no words for how much gratitude we should feel for them. The best way to thank them is to keep going with the legacy that they have left us
What does it mean to brave? One aspect of bravery for me, is sacrificing everything you have and not being afraid to do anything. Bravery does not mean that a person has no emotion at all. Being brave means that you are afraid, but overcome that fear. Overcoming a specified fear gives a person courage and helps pass an obstacle.
This country is great for many reason, despite its hardships. One of the many reasons is that we have freedom to chose, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech. We are also a melting pot for many different ethnicity. Being an American is about the freedom we here enjoy. We are full of different ethnicity and cultures.
America as made it through countless hardships, and we have won many wars, to gain the hope for the future we have today. My grandfather, who fought in Vietnam, is a hero. I appreciate what he and our founding fathers and veterans have given us, they gave us freedom and hope for the future.

The American flag resonates deeply within me, representing the love, freedom, and admiration that has shaped my life. Not only has the American flag acted as a symbol of unity for our nation, but it represents the values and history of the lives we live today. The eye-catching colors and stars are special to millions of people as they also hold a special place in my heart. Growing up the red and white stripes mixed with the blue and white stars has always caused me to love looking at this flag. Although, it was not until I grew older that I realized how much love I have for this flag as it is the reason I live the life I live today.
Bravery is the action of being courageous. If you are standing up for what you believe in, you are already winning. “Often, for undaunted courage, fate spares the man it has not already marked." (Raffel. 572-573) Bravery took a major part in this poem.
What is America all about? What is America defined as? America is more than just its geographical boundaries. To everyone in the world, America stands for something. People believe in America.

When you ask a non American “What does America mean to you?” , they will more often than not answer with hamburgers, obesity, NFL and Reality TV. That is okay because who doesn 't love hamburgers and football filled Sundays, who doesn 't love watching silly reality TV shows and who doesn 't love a cheat day every once in awhile? Those people are judging a book by its cover and fortunately for me… well my thoughts about America are quite different. When an individual asks me “What does America mean to you?”

Some people think that being brave means being fearless and jumping into some action but thats not all true as being brave means you have the strength and the will power to overcome the problem that you are facing. As bravery enables you to face danger or pain without showing the fear you have .There are two types of bravery, Physical bravery: It includes doing something in spite of possible harm that can occur to one's body. The heroic stories of the past or the instances where we act for our beliefs even in the face of physical danger are a typical example of this and Moral bravery: It involves acting in a manner that will enhance or reinforce ones beliefs to be good and true.
