What makes me an ideal candidate for the scholarship program is a very hard question to answer, in which I for one cannot answer alone. However, I can set some of my attitudes, values, and traits and share my characteristics as a person that I hope can help me to be qualified for this scholarship. First and foremost, upon applying to this scholarship, there is only one thing that is set to my mind, and that is to help my parent’s in their expenses throughout my college, I know that college is by far the most expensive enrollment that a student to enter, for this serves as a stepping stone for students success, or me rather to pursue my future career in the future. The essence of entering college serves very important part to me, for this is an …show more content…
I know that some of those weaknesses will soon arrive to give me problems and hinder me to attain my goals in life. One of my weaknesses that I can admit is that I don’t meet standards of some people, I can’t handle multi-tasking, and have a lot of problems in being a perfectionist, sometimes I solo my work and don’t ask for anybody’s help even though it requires a group work, and I can probably say that I am lazy, I can really admit that, I also believe that one of my greatest weaknesses is that I still lack the knowledge that I’ve requires me to be the best of myself, I know that there is still a part of me that is missing that I have yet to find. Though I have weaknesses, many weaknesses, I also have my strengths and those strengths I am so proud of because it has all has something to do with my weaknesses, I can say that I am sometimes a perfectionist, however my strength in being a perfectionist is I can see the better out of things. Yes I do solo work though it requires a group work, however I learned to be independent to
One of the most important qualities a member must embody is scholarship. This means demonstrating a commitment to learning. For me and many others, scholarship is something that comes naturally in a competitive environment such as school. By looking at my GPA and the grades I have in my classes, it is clear that I am committed to doing well in school. Not only am I academically ambitious when it comes to test scores and graded assignments, I have a constant desire to acquire more information about new things outside of school and at home.
I tend to make excuses for myself. I like to stay on the couch and do nothing, when I knew I should be working. In softball, Our coaches tell us to put in extra work; the extra work helps become a better player. All the extra things I do help me out in the future. Another weakness I have is having a bad attitude.
I believe that I am qualified for this scholarship because of how much I have grown at Wendell Baptist Church. It has helped me grow in my walk with God through missions and through serving. It has helped me appreciate the little things in life like the slides during services on sunday morning. Showing me that the little things like that do not just happen and some people put a lot of work into making them happen. Wendell Baptist Church has also shown me just how great my life is and how the problems I think I have are actually not that big of a deal in the long run.
I am the best candidate for this scholarship because I have experienced a hard and unwanted event, but I have grown from it and become a better and stronger person because of my parents, which will help me power through college and become a civil lawyer. My mom and dad although divorced, have supported me through every event in my life, making me the person I am today. Living with my mom, I have learned how hard it really is to do things that my dad would have done in a heartbeat. As I grew up knowing that my dad was not coming back through the back door as I hoped, I learned how hard life really is and how life is not fair.
Pursuing a degree with APUS is the next big step to furthering my education and starting a career. I have children. I 'm a mother of four and I always wanted what was best for them. I had to make certain decisions and scafices for them and not going to college is one.
With fewer financial worries, I could pursue internships and research opportunities that would enhance my learning experience and create connections to the professional world. In addition to that, this scholarship would not only address my immediate financial needs but would also alleviate the financial burden on my family. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the challenges my immigrant parents faced in providing for our family's basic needs. Their relentless determination and unwavering support motivated me to strive for a brighter future. By lessening their financial responsibilities towards my education, my parents could focus their time and resources to address their own financial
It’s very likely that you usually pay more attention to your shortcomings than your strong points. You customarily devote yourself to overcoming your limitations.” (Gallup, n.d., p. 5). This statement is very true; I am a very motivated individual, and I am always trying to better myself. I am a person that does not focus on my strengths, but on my weaknesses that I need to improve.
After knowing what my weaknesses are, I usually try to solve them and improve my skills. For example, I’m not a highly flexible and positive person, so I seek out to individuals who are flexible and positive in their lives and ask for their advice. Another strength that I have is that I usually have a positive outlook of my improvement, because I have seen examples of those who overcome their hardships and become successful in life, so I believe that if I try hard enough, I will be able to overcome my weaknesses. I’m also confident with my listening skills and my ability to focus on others and make them feel heard. I like to start on works and projects early so that if anything comes up, I will still have time to handle it.
In “Strengths Finder 2.0,” Tom Rath informs us that, “You cannot be anything you want to be- but you can be a lot more of who you already are” (Rath p9). I agree with him in the fact that we must focus on our strengths rather than trying to better our weaknesses in order to become successful. So many people today put their attention towards improving their weaknesses that they are surpass by others who focus on their strengths. After learning my own personal strengths, I have a better understanding of who I am and how to focus on these both in school and in the workforce.
I am a hard worker, I understand college is my opportunity in life, and I will not waste the opportunity. The scholarship will go to good use in helping me achieve my
Since I only live with my mom,and she just has one job to pay all of our bills, paying for college is far from our minds. Even though my mom has worked hard to give me everything I needed and supported me all my life, she just doesn’t have enough to afford the privilege of me going to college. But with the help of this scholarship, I might be able to get a college education. If I get this scholarship,I promise that I will not leave it to waste. I will apply this scholarship to help me in my first years at TMCC.
I believe I should be selected for the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship because I am not the typical high school senior. When it comes to my education, I go about and beyond expectations. My desire to do my best in school shows consistently year after year. I put in equal amount of effort when it comes to my after school activities and community involvement. I was told at a young age that education was the key to success and from that point on I made it my main priority not to be the average student among those that settle for less but to be a outstanding student that rises to every occasion to take advantage of my education.
As I begin my college education, I want to continue doing my best in order to accomplish my goal of becoming a registered nurse. With the scholarship money I can have the peace of mind of solemnly focusing on college. Students who have to work to continue their education have trouble focusing on school and do not have the extra time to study or go to tutoring sessions. In many cases, having to work while attending college usually leads to failing or dropping the class due to extra stress and the idea of income. As well, this scholarship will give me more time to focus on my education and to continue my volunteer work helping the
The root of all of my weaknesses is that I always want to be perfect. To overcome these weaknesses I always try to keep in my mind that I have to
I already know I will need to be paying for the majority of my college tuition, which is why I have worked so hard and had a job since I was 16. I know many students around my financial status whose parents are paying for all of their college, but for my family this isn’t the case. The tuition will fall mainly on my shoulders, and I believe I deserve this scholarship to help me pay for
