Well coming from a future nurse yes I think college is very important and isn’t a waste of money or time at that. Right now in our society a college education is no longer an option or privilege, but rather a necessity. We are practically raised and conditioned to believe that one needs higher education in order to succeed in life. There are people who have never set foot in a college and are doing way better than people who have their master's degree. There are views from both sides that contain a valid argument. College prepares us in order to succeed in the future and is not only about getting a good job but about acquiring knowledge and broadening one's horizon. College definitely has its pros and cons. But I think that college is what you make of it. It can be the best time of your life, but only if you want it to. You can take the pessimistic view about it and think that college is a waste of money, or it can be looked at as a challenging and exciting new frontier that basically will set the precedent for the rest of your life. For all the struggles that many young college graduates face, a four-year degree has probably never been more valuable. Not so many decades ago, high school was considered the frontier of education. Some people even argued that it was a waste to encourage Americans from humble backgrounds to spend four years of life attending high school. Today, obviously, the notion that everyone should attend 13 years of school is indisputable. But there is nothing magical about 13 years of education. As the economy becomes more technologically complex, the amount of education that people need will rise. At some point, 15 years or 17 years of education will make more sense as a universal goal. Going to college costs between three and four times as much as it did 20 years
