Different Gods, Similar Stories Throughout history many different myths, tales and legends were told repetitively down generations of families. Some of these myths include the story of Zeus created in Greek Mythology and the tale of Thor formed in Norse Mythology. Although both gods are different in many ways, they each share very many similar aspects as well. In Greek Mythology Zeus is the lightning/thunder god. Zeus is the son of Rhea and Cronus, who were rulers of the Titans. Before he was born his father had consumed all of his sisters and brothers in fear that they would over throw him from ruler. Finally, when Zeus was born his mother kept him in hiding from Cronus so he could grow up to be a powerful god. When fully grown he set his brothers and sisters free from darkness of Cronus’s stomach, and together they overthrew him from leader. He lives on the top of Mount Olympus along with his two brothers, three sisters and eight children and is considered the god of all gods. He is the son of Odin and Jord. Thor lives in Asgard among the Asgard people, and his family which consists of his parents, his half-brothers and his blood brother named Loki who is also his arch enemy. Thor also has three children, a daughter named Thrud, and two sons named Magni and Modi. Unlike Zeus where Thor comes from he is not considered to be the main god, or leader of the gods. However, Thor is considered the protector of all gods and mankind. Thor is mainly known for his hammer which controls the thunder and lightning.
