Should Students be allowed to eat during class hours?
Eating snacks during class hours is one of the few causes of occurring problems to teachers and some students who is not in favor of this. Generation by generation, our working force and time is being changed; including in academics, there’s a lot of work to do off and in school especially to students. Whereas in our history there is still enough time for taking snacks before and after class, where in today there are factors in which taking snacks in the usual time is disabled. From an internet source of a particular survey stated that, “I would agree that in most cases eating should not be allowed in the classroom. It is a distraction to the teaching and learning process and as someone else mentioned usually results in a mess in the classroom. I do believe that students should be allowed to bring water bottles into the classroom though.” (lrwilliams College Teacher (Level 1) Educator) And another pointed, “I am opposed to students eating in class. It is a distraction not only for the student who is eating but for others in the class who can't help but notice it. I insist that my students remain 100% engaged in the lesson for the brief time they are with me; if they are 100% engaged, then they don't have time for anything else. I can live with water or something similar, particularly if the student has a medical condition of which I have been made aware. Otherwise, food and drink are not only messy; they detract from the atmosphere and purpose of the class.” (larrygates College Teacher (Level 1) Educator
If students start packing their own lunch and not eating the cafeteria lunch then the school will be wasting food and possibly even money because the students don't want to eat it. Parents on the other hand might wonder why their child is coming home always hungry and it would be because the child doesn't like the new lunch menu at school. Then the school will have angry parents at their office desk yelling and complaining about the menu being changed because their child is going all day starving due to them not liking the food. Some of the students might blame it on the cafeteria workers when its not their fault at all, which could lead to the lunch lady's to quit their job or start complaining to. Everyone has a different opinion but this one is mine School lunches should defiantly stay the same no matter what anyone says.
Athletes need a larger lunch, and limiting the lunch to be healthier can affect them badly. students should be the ones to decide the food they eat, not the school. Although it can allow some students to lose weight, changing the school lunch to be healthier will not be good because it will make a small impact or even a negative impact,

That type of junk slows your metabolism down and makes you sleepy, I mean of course you have energy for a while but it goes away quickly. Fruit on the other hand, gives you energy that stay with you for a long period of time. It give you a high metabolism. Must students get really tired after lunch because of what they eat. They don't have the energy to do the work in class, but if we had healthier food choice we would be able to focus, and pay attention to what the teacher is saying.
Food is essential. It is clearly a necessity for life, and because of this, how we view our food is just as important as what it is that we are eating. Some say that ignorance is bliss and sometimes that may be true, but with knowledge comes wisdom. Therefore, knowing the risks of the things we eat, and what we may be able to change to adjust to healthier eating habits is information everyone should have, including parents and or legal guardians for their sakes, as well as their children’s.
In conclusion schools should not change the lunches because they don't have the power to tell students can or can't eat, they don't have the time and money, and finally because they are not allowed to put a limit on how much a student can eat due to the “No Kid Hungry
Being hungry is a form of physical pain. Students often become hungry during school, which make them focus on their hungry other than school work. Students can barely concentrate when they are hungry. But on the other hand, eating in school can be very loud and obnoxious. Students should be allowed to eat in class, because it helps the mind focus and stay on task.
They also recommend that schools exceed the minimum fruit and vegetable requirements in school lunches to increase consumptions as well as be offered as snacks at school. (Haynes-Maslow, O’Hara 2015) I thought this paper was important because healthy eating habits are formed when young. If school aged children are taught to eat produce with every meal they will be more inclined to practice the same habit when older, therefore ensuring an overall healthier life. It saddens me that children of socioeconomically challenged families often rely on solely school lunch to eat fruits and vegetable.
Lunch from the Outside Students skipping lunch because they rather not eat and lose their hygiene! Have you ever seen students walking by the cafeteria but they don’t eat. The subject I will be discussing is off-campus school lunch. The issue I chose is relevant because there will be a mall right next to our school(Kapolei Middle). The reason I chose to discuss this topic is students should be able to have the freedom of going off campus and be able to be trusted to do the right thing.
Studies show that overweight students tend to have more problems with learning and paying attention (Miura). Many parents also fear that children would have the chance to skip school of get into drugs and alcohol while they are loose for their lunch break. People of the communities have also expressed their fears of increased traffic and increased risk of traffic collisions (?9 Primary Pros and Cons of Open Campus Lunch?). Stress has become a major issue for high school students. Many students have seven classes, participate in sports, have after school activities, homework, and need to get an adequate amount of sleep each night. Some parents and outside influencers don’t see the benefits of having a longer lunch period for high school students. Students complain about how long school is now but they don 't have enough time outside of school to complete everything they are expected to. While it is understandable that some parents wouldn’t want longer lunches because it could result in safety issues and students having to remain in school 30 minutes longer than the traditional time, longer lunches would give students a chance to complete homework, get help from teachers, and eat a nutritious meal.
