Bath and Body works VS. Victoria’s Secret What interests me about Bath and Body works is how the company always seems to come up with new scented items. This is true because each time I walk pass the store, a swift of scented perfumes rushes through my nose. Unlike Bath and Body works, Victoria’s secret does not have a wide variety of scents and items to choose from because most of Victoria’s Secret fragments all smell similar to each other. Therefore the Bath and Body works advertisement is more effective than Victoria’s Secrets because Bath and Body works has more affordable values than Victoria’s Secret. Bath and Body works compares to Victoria’s Secret because they both advertise their new products and are trying to sell their new products …show more content…
An interesting fact that I have read from “How Bath and Body works Became America’s Big-gest Mall Beauty Brand.” is that “there are at least 1,600 stores within North America” (Racked Para 3). Another interesting fact that I did not know is that Bath and body works had been founded approximately Twenty-Five years ago. What had surprised me the most is that Bath and body works have made about 1.6 billion dollars in sales per year. If the customers of Bath and Body works knew about these facts then it could attract more customers to the store because of the number of sales that they have each year. Bath and Body works is worth spending money on because Bath and Body works always has those good deals and sales on lotions and perfumes. For example Bath and Body works has those”Buy 3 for $12, mix and match with lotions and perfumes”. It strongly grabs my attention and it makes it difficult to avoid versus when walking into Victoria’s Secret they rarely do have sales on their fragrances, but they are also expensive to afford. Unlike Bath and Body works you can afford anything that they sell. Therefore Bath and Body works ads seems more effective than Victoria’s …show more content…
But since both Bath and body works and Victoria’s Secret are being ex-panded into china they both are going from cruelty free to testing animals in china because in china they do not know how strong or harmful it can be on animals, since animals are close as to being human beings. I read reviews on some of the products and they believe that their products are completely harmless because it does no harm to their skin. For a fact the people who use the products said that “it makes their skin feel softer and healthier. Not only does it make their skin feel softer, but it also makes people feel younger like they do not feel completely aged at all.” Therefore the feeling of softer skin puts a smile on those who use their product. If Bath and Body works are going to begin or pursue to thinking about testing their products on animals, it could change the minds of the people from using their products to not using them, because no one likes to use products that have been tested on animals, it gives people that wrong guilty feel-ing. They would feel that way because they believe that they did that to animals to make them-selves feel beautiful or clean just for the sake of themselves and not the

During the 21st century, advertisements use many methods to attract the audience. Companies, especially cosmetic companies, use their advertisements to manipulate their viewers to make them think that they need their beauty products. Revlon is a perfect example of these cosmetic companies that play with your mind. Revlon’s mascara commercial campaign utilizes ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos is shown in many advertisements of Revlon’s mascara campaign.
Raise your hand if you have ever used a product from any of the following companies. Victorias Secret, Maybelline, Calvin Klein, Axe, Band-aid, Johnson and Johnson, Tide, Febreze. Almost everyone in this room has used a product from one of these enormous companies and brands. So why, what do makeup companies, clothing companies, and cleaning products have in common? All of these companies are just a fraction of companies that test their products on animals such as mice, rabbits, primates, cats, and dogs.

2.4.1 Competitive Rivalry Revlon faces stiff competition from existing cosmetic entities like Estee Lauder and L’Oréal which acquire larger market share along with sustainable competitive edge by innovation (Kumar, et al., 2006). Besides, many luxury brands like Chanel and Dior nowadays join the competition also, launching beauty products. Therefore, Revlon needs constant innovation for survival in the market. 2.4.2 Bargaining Power of Customers
This proves how immoral it is to test on animals especially since the law does not require the cosmetics to be tested. The most plausible answer for why the animals are being tested on is a business wants to make money and if the business cosmetic is unsafe and harms one human then no one is going to want to buy another cosmetic from that business. This could leave a business with no
Kiehl 's: It has positioned itself as a skin care place based in natural ingredients. With growing demand from natural products all over the world, this pharmacy can strengthen itself by laying stress on its ‘heritage’ and use of ‘natural ingredients.’ Having penetrated well enough, it would probably focus on product development and develop more products that deliver values such as heritage and natural cure. b. Nevertheless, Lush lacks employee management and transparency. Lush’s proposed actions are not supported by substantial empirical evidence. Ergo, Lush is not completely transparent as to whether the eco-friendly and ethical actions it asserts are actually pursued. As aforementioned, employees often have complained about high sales pressure and feel that there was insufficient catering into their personal values. As a brand that has a stable and slowly increasing marketing standing in the cosmetics market, Lush has to be able to realise its faults in order to become more credible and profitable while establishing a stronger market standing.
When putting on your lipstick, do you know what brand your lipstick is? If you are not aware, you might indirectly support animal testing without realizing it. Animal testing is a scientific experiment performed on animals to study the effects of drugs, cosmetic products and other chemical products on humans. In other words, it is used to evaluate the effectiveness of new drugs. About 1.4 million animals die each year because of animal testing.
