Responsible gun owners know how to treat a gun when they buy it, that’s why we have developed an organization to separate these people from irresponsible people who choose to act by a distinct set of the ruling. (Sola, par. 3) This means that some people will have guns, but only the ones who choose to use them for necessary causes. This suggests that people who don’t want their guns to be taken away or banned, will possibly be able to keep them if they show responsibility, and if they don’t, then they will get punished by losing their guns. “The reasoning is pretty clear: you need rifles to overthrow a government.” (King, par. 7) This is important because we citizens need our government to make choices and things of that nature, but if someone were to conquer our government, with the help of guns, then this would be horrifying to America. As a result, American’s will become angrier and more defensive with guns, and that’s why we would need gun control. “A …show more content…
(King, par.2) This means that all the drama and debates going on about gun control are not worth it. Gun control is not effective at all. This is important because people should know not to be spending their time supporting gun control when there are other types of weaponry that could do the same harm. “Now, rather than candidate Obama promising not to ‘take everyone’s guns away,’ he openly muses about an Australian-style gun control regime that would, incidentally, require taking everyone’s guns away.” (Stafford, par. 5) This means that American’s don 't have something to defend themselves against dangerous things. This would result in immense fear in the U.S. “After the ban was enacted, the homicides trended up until they reached a peak of 18.0 in 2003.” (King, par. 4) This means that the ban didn’t do anything to help the citizens. It is simply doing the opposite. This would result in chaos and, worse, people getting guns
Guns control is not strict enough these days. The U.S government does not put down laws strict enough to deal with people purchasing guns without having a license. Some people who are aggressive and have health issues should not be allowed to have guns because they might go out and shoot people in anger. " No legitimate study in the U.S has ever shown that gun control has any positive Impact on crime"?
While opposers of gun control legislation believe that an increase in possession of guns reduce crimes and violence, statistics have revealed a strikingly positive correlation between possession of guns and violent crimes. The U.S. may only have 4.4% of the world’s population, but it has 42% of all civilian owned guns (Kodjack). There is a gun for almost every citizen, with “approximately 300 million firearms held by citizens in their homes” (Kodjak). These statistics have created great suspicion about the reliability of legislative regulations in restricting the citizens’ ability to obtain firearms, and reducing gun violence. Critics of the NRA’s activities have identified loopholes, or ways to illegally get by, certain gun laws.
Many different potential mass shootings have been stopped by a citizen who owned a legal gun and acted in defense. (Hunter) B. Restrictions on guns will not decrease the number of homicides or mass shootings; in fact, they will be completely
“We have found that when large capacity magazines [and assault weapons] are regulated, you get drastic drops in both the incidence of gun massacres and the fatality rate of gun massacres.” (Klarevas, 2018) It is unrealistic to imagine all gun access to be nonexistent, the cease of access to any type of gun causes chaos in its own sense, and illegal weapons would be purchased, which would ensure even worse repercussions. A gun ban is not realistic, however gun control is. Critics argue limiting deadly assault weapons does not solve the nation’s gun issue.
Wilson believes that if guns becomes control in our nation, United States may see an increase of violence. In addition, illegal use of gun will become an consequences due to gun controll. Wilson states ‘“In the decade since England banned all private possession of handguns, the BBC reported that the number of gun crimes has gone up sharply” (Wilson, 2007). In other words, Wilson believes that gun control is not a solution for Europe nor United States, but to stand by the already existed law of guns. I
Gun control is what restricts people from buying and using guns, but these laws are not strengthened at the extent they need to be strengthened. This leads to many people getting these guns and using them to cause mass shootings all over the U.S. For example, according to the Council on Foreign Relationship, a news article that covers major world issues, in 2017, mass shootings at a music festival in Las Vegas and at a church near San Antonio have rekindled the gun control debate (“U.S. Gun Policy: Global Comparisons”). The fact that gun control is still not tightened is a huge margin and error, and still causes mass shootings as we just covered. Many people have said that we should not allow guns to be purchased, which would seem like the logical option. However, according to the same source, Council on Foreign Relationship, some states, such as Idaho, Alaska, and Kansas, have passed various laws attempting to nullify
Do you have a gun in your household? Should people carry guns with them? Michael Steele once said,”You can have all the gun control laws in the country, but if you don 't enforce them, people are going to find a way to protect themselves. We need to recognize that bad people are doing bad things with these weapons. It 's not the law-abiding citizens, it 's not the person who uses it as a hobby.
However, a stricter regulation on gun control will not ensure people’s safety as gun control not only regulates aspects related to guns, but it also regulates a person’s ability to defend themselves. In a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, 49% of the people stated hunting as main purpose for owning a gun while 26% stated protection; however, in 2013 when the survey was re-conducted, the reasons changed as 48% of the people stated protection as the main reason why they would own guns rather than hunting, which was at 32% (“Why Own a Gun? Protection Is Now Top Reason”). Additionally, how can the government regulate the purchase of weapons from illegal trade/black markets, a resource criminal often uses to gain weapons? Therefore, gun-violence prevention must be sought through alternative means such as using metal detectors in schools like those placed in airports.
Statistics show that comparable to other democratic nations the United states has a higher proportion of gun related violent incidents than those states where gun control legislation has been adopted. An example would be the case of the United Kingdom, which had approximately 2,261 Violence Against the Person (VAP) Offences involving firearms, including low velocity Air weapons in 2015/16 . If this is then compared to the United States which had, in the same period, 9,616 gun related murders and a million VAP offences that did not end in a fatality, then it can be argued that the NRA’s outdated mantra is illogical . There are many further problems with the NRA argument that can be identified in the modern era. , but the main issue would be the NRA’s reasons for the existence of the Amendment.
Or just to exercise our legal rights to bear arms. There would be more crime in America if there was strict gun control. Guns discourage acts of violence. If someone might have a gun, someone will be discouraged to inflict harm upon that person.
Gun Control Gun control over the years has been a controversial subject, with people arguing for both sides. The 2nd amendment states that everyone in the U.S. has a right to bear arms. Mass shootings and suicides by firearm have been a growing concern for many people living in the U.S. Numerous people making the argument that there should be more gun control. Having gun control would help lessen the deaths by firearms in the country for a variety of reasons.
In recent times the topic of gun control has been a more prevalent topic in the United States. It is a controversial issue that has been debated for years. Events such as the shooting in an elementary school in Connecticut and in a Colorado theater at an early morning screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" have persuaded many government officials to support gun control laws. Even with their differences in mind, these mass killers shared one quality with each other and with every other American besides: easy access to deadly weapons. These shootings were a catalyst for an uproar in the demand of stricter gun control laws.
In today’s society, one of the most alienating issues in American politics is gun control. More specifically, the issue is whether or not guns should be banned in the United States. Some people would say that guns should be banned because it would reduce crime as a whole and keep citizens safer. These people, enthusiasts of stricter gun laws, fear being safe in their country where there are so many people who have access to guns. Opponents of this argument, however, also fear losing safety.
The number of incidents of gun violence last year in the United States was about 60,000. In recent years, the number of mass shooting has risen to about one mass shooting per day in the United States. The country is divided with some wanting to reevaluate our gun control laws and either ban or add additional regulations to the purchase of guns. Others say it is our right for Americans to own guns and something the founding fathers considered important to put in the Bill of Rights. The number of firearm sales has risen with the number of mass shooting many Americans question if banning guns or certain guns could help decrease the number of gun violence deaths.
However, the effort by some misguided individuals to eliminate the legal ownership of guns does not address the real problems at hand and simply disarms the innocent law-abiding citizens who are most in need of a form of self-defense. Guns and violence is hurting our community, Many people are asking whether guns really are the helpful tool that many of us have been saying they are, or if they are the killing machines. If guns wasn 't so convenient to get to now days our crime rate would be low. Also people needs to come to their senses and wake and stop trying to kill pullets don 't have eyes. In the article I readed a the quote had said “ Evil should be known as evil.
