Problem Solution Paper 95% of people think that america needs stricter gun control laws, yet the amount of shootings in the past years has risen exponentially. Gun violence is a serious problem and the people of the United States have wanted to solve this problem this for a long time. If people feel scared to go to school (which should be a safe learning environment for all children and all ages) that is a problem, and it needs to be solved, or at the very least put in barriers to deal with the mental disabilities and amount of guns associated with this problem. There has been an exponential rise in shootings in America since the 20th century. In the 20th century there were 226 shootings, in the first 18 years of the 21st century there have been 211 shootings. That is double the amount of the previous years and more in nearly ⅘ of the time. That is the exact wrong way to go when you are dealing with this subject. Republicans and Democrats have fought over this issue for years and never have really agreed on the subject, but if the real facts back you up it should not matter if you’re a Democrat or a Republican - everyone should agree on this, shootings/school shootings are a serious problem and it needs to be solved. The Columbine shooting was one of the first mass school shootings in the US, and it was one of the first school shootings on the national radar in which the shooters killed twelve students and one teacher. People sometimes admire these people and reason people try to replicate this shooting is because they sometimes idolize former school shooters. These followers will try and replicate the former assailants, in which inducing another shooting/mass shooting.
