Introduction In this week’s paper a qualitative analysis will be given from a Biblical/Christian worldview. Fisher (2013) notes, that Biblical Christianity is absolute and that God is the source of all truth, power, authority and in the long run bares a social responsibility to man What is a worldview? A Worldview is a presuppositions of assumptions which may be true, partially true, or entirely false, which we hold consciously or subconsciously consistently or inconsistent about the basic make-up of our world (Sire, 2009). A worldview is our underlying philosophy of life (Hemphill, 2013). What The Term Worldview Means The term worldview gives meaning to an individual believe factor. For instance, Christians tell the story of creation, the …show more content…
John 1:1, says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (KJV). Is it too hard to believe that God has a vision? A vision of how God wants the world to exist. Also, what he wants in it, so he started by creating the world we live in. Life began with God’s worldview of origin. Proverbs 8:23 says, “Mankind came into existence before the works of old” (KJV). God creating him from the dust of the ground and woman formed from mans’ rib. God created everything in the water and on earth (Genesis 1:1). How did mankind come into existence? Mankind is made after the image of God. John 1:13, says, “All things were made through him” (KJV). Man has always existed with God, but it was not until God said, “Let us make man-kind after our likeness, and after our image” (KJV) that the likeness of God was shaped into a form. Colossian 1:16-, says, “For by him all things created” (KJV). Mankind came to exist because Christ worldview is in him all things consist of him and without him nothing …show more content…
What does it mean to be human? Having my own thoughts of how things are and why they are make me human in contrast, we were made in the image of Christ with our own thought process but we process data differently. Isiah 55:8, “Humans are no more important than animals. Humans were made to care for the things of the kingdom. Genesis 1:31, “God made us all and everything he made he saw it to be very good” (KJV). Why do I exist? Mankind exist to glorify God, to minister to those who are lost turning them back to the knowledge of the living God. Matthew 28:19, says, “Go ye therefore into all the world and teach them, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost” (KJV). Dr. Myles Monroe (2013), said, “I would presume all mankind was made to live for a purpose.” Even Christ existed for a purpose, John 6:38, “For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me” (KJV). On a personal note, I exist so I can lead women back to the family of God through teaching them how to glorify God in their marriage, relationships, with their children, and how to adorn themselves in the family of
Both Christianity and Judaism believe that God has created man in his image and that He has made man to take care of creation (Doc. 5). Christianity also upholds the belief that God was in the beginning and he was the creator of all things. Christians also believe in messengers, or disciples, who were sent to spread the word of God and to “bear witness to the light” (Doc 6.). However, the messenger and God himself was not always accepted. Similar to Islamic faith, the reason for existence for Christians is to please their God, and receive salvation through Jesus Christ so they may live eternally in
Realizing the Lord's objective when establishing the universe offers perspective to those within it, and allows them to understand how glorifying Him will always be critical. God continues
A Christian begins with believing that God exists; the biblical/Christian worldview begins with God being known through His creation of and revelation to humanity. “The term biblical is added as a descriptor to indicate the lens or
How were humans created? Many different faiths and ethnicities have tried to answer this question, some creating outlandish theories, while others made stories that could realistically happen. Two of these creation stories that are relevant to American history are the Iroquois Creation Story and the Christian creation story, also known as the first three chapters of the book of Genesis. These two stories, if compared with an open mind, can be determined to have some surprising similarities, and some blatant differences.
The discord that has divided psychology and theology has created much opposition to finding a place of co existence. In spite all the various worldviews, psychology and theology seem to be inseparable in spite of the challenges. Entwistle states “Blamires helps us to see that we can learn from ‘secular’ sources while framing our thinking with a Christian worldview and applying knowledge with Christian concern” (Entwistle, 2010).God created everything, nothing is hidden from him and he is all wise and knowing. Every problem was created by sin and it will take philosophical anthropology, psychological and theological approach to change the outcome of sin to explain how humans behave the way they do. In the book Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity, Entwistle provides the necessary information to educate on the
But this draws down to perhaps the oldest instinct in any living being: survival. In that sense, the people making these choices certainly remain their humanity, but only to a degree, as that instinct is animalistic, and we humans often find ourselves above
What is are purpose of being here on this Earth? That question has been asked by so many, but there hasn’t been a clear answer as to why are we are here. According to the bible it states, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Religion throughout history has been the root cause of most major issues and has an impact on everyone’s lives. The different interpretation of religion has been the primary cause of equal right issues and has even continued in today’s society.
Worldview is the how you interpret the reality you live in and what you believe to be true. Everyone has a worldview, it can change and vary for each person. But there is a common ground in worldviews, which is that they are influenced by what we read, watch, and associate ourselves with. In addition to science and religion.
Man was initially created to have a good relationship with God, but by his actions, he severed that relationship. Humans were created during creation by God to worship God. When man was created, God provided for him. Man’s purpose was to have dominion over God’s creation (Genesis 1:28). As a result of humanity’s fall, God sent his son Jesus for atonement, the second person in the
Introduction What does it mean to have a worldview? A worldview is a set of beliefs about our perception of reality that influence our thoughts, morals, and actions. It can be anything from the lessons we learned from our parents and grandparents to our stance on economic policies. Now, what does it mean to have a biblical worldview? A biblical worldview is the lens we use to trust the word of God and how we apply it to everyday life.
BIBL 4523-03, Capstone: Christ and His World Fall 2015 Dr. Kooi Exam 1 Explain how the concepts of “myth” and “story” help us to understand the Bible properly. To understand how the concepts of “myth” and “story” help us understand the Bible, first we need to define what a myth and story mean. A myth is a traditional or legendary tale usually concerning some being, human, hero, or event with or without a determinable basis of fact or natural explanation. A story on the other hand is the retelling of an event, whether true or false. Myths through the course of history have been used as the foundation of philosophical and religious thought.
Christians believe God created the earth. “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made,” John 1:3. They believe God created
Both of them have an immense influence on people and their beliefs. In this essay I’m gonna look at the religious ones, and these types of explanations are called “Creation myths” because they have supernatural characters and not realistic events; two of the most popular ones are Genesis and The world on the Turtle’s Back. The World on the Turtle's Back tells us about the gods
Religion plays an integral role in the healthcare setting. As such, healthcare givers are required to respect patients’ faith diversity while giving treatment and care. This paper thus seeks to discuss the differences between the Christian and Muslim religions as well as healthcare practices that are fundamental to both belief systems. The paper will also address the worldview questions outlined in Called to Care and thus provide a spiritual perspective on healing. Healthcare practitioners are supposed to provide care which meets the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of each patient.
Jesus is also seen as the Word of God in which all this were created. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:1-3 (The Holy Bible: The New International Version, n.d.)
