With gun violence rising everyday people ignore the fact that some people should carry on campus to make the day safer and maybe some people would feel safer knowing that they have somebody on campus who can shoot back if there were to be a shooter. Four days ago Governor Nathan Deal vetoed the bill for students at Georgia university to conceal carry. This to me is saying that he wasn 't ready for students to carry because he thinks that they don 't need a gun on campus and that they are safe enough just the way it is, when in the near future if a shooter comes to their university and commits a shooter that Governor will be responsible for why people got hurt all because he didn 't pass that bill and have responsible students carry. Texas approved the same law last year allowing responsible students to carry. Not only can they carry on campus but they make others around them feel 10 times safer. Governor Deal rejected the bill to give school security a chance to improve on their jobs and come up with new ideas on how to make the school

Teachers should not be armed in schools because the could not handle a real situation, and the liability is too much of a risk. To elaborate, it is widely agreed that a student’s well-being is a teacher’s concern. For six to eight hours every day for 5 days a week, the life of the student is in the teacher’s hands. However, a teacher has never been expected to arm themself to protect a student until now.
(Smith, T.N. 2012) The students and staff while on campus who are protecting themselves or another should not be subject to arrest or be punished for a crime. Students need to properly educate the public on the benefits of carrying guns on the campus. By states not allowing guns on campus it is making a target for the shootings. Research says there are more rapes, assaults, and robberies than killings.
Violent criminals know that currently schools are gun free zones, and can use this factor to their advantage. Rather than falling victim to an attack on the school; teachers could protect themselves and their students. Students could feel much safer if their teacher was armed. Students would feel more safe if they knew they could be protected from an attack from an intruder or another student. Criminals know that teachers currently are not armed and could potentially see schools as a target.

So a possible factor in decreasing shootings is arming teachers, by doing this teachers can fight back instead of shielding or running from the shooter. Reason #2 teachers can defend their students by changing this law and using correct training teachers should be able to carry a weapon. By doing this not only insure safety it will give relief for parents all over the country. This tactic will give school staffs a chance to outnumber a possible shooter.

The great state of “Texas has made carrying a concealed weapon on college campuses legal as of August 2016” (New York Times).
When many people are behind that thought it may be difficult to change their minds into having weapons inside a school. The schools can be prepared, but there is always someone that is going to outsmart their system or know the system then they would win. If plans were based off of the layout of schools it will be harder for people to outsmart the system (Cummings). Making new plans at schools will take way too long to complete and it will create a weakness in the schools. Even though making a new plan may take a long time it is the best option to prevent school
There has been a long standing debate in America regarding open carry. Some people believe that open carry will help protect others from harm. Recently, on June 1, 2015, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed the Campus Carry Law, allowing licensed holders to carry a handgun on college and university campuses, effective next year, August 1, 2016. Gun Control laws need to be controlled, that is indeed true, proven by the 335 public shootings in the country this year alone. Open carry will not be a solution to this growing problem, it may in fact help increase its numbers.

Such accidental shootings are not accountable for which leaves families of innocent victims upset and frustrated because justice is never served. Ninety three percent of the violence against college students occurs off campus, where guns are widely available.
College students and the campus environment work with the books, study notes, laptop and other required things related to education. Consider the possibility that it was legitimate for it to additionally hold a gun. Since the shooting incident of 32 individuals on the Virginia Tech grounds in 2007 by a beset understudy, state governing bodies across the nation have considered bills to permit conveying hid weapons on school grounds, including inside classrooms and residences. So far enactment has neglected to go to 55 events in 29 states, yet bills are as yet pending in 10 states.
Hypothetically, a law is passed stating that teachers are allowed to carry guns in school. In a sick twisted world, the teacher becomes the school shooter. Your student is in class and their teacher pulls out their government funded school weapon and starts shooting. How is your child supposed to protect themselves if the approved district teacher starts shooting the students with a malicious intent. Teachers should not be allowed to carry guns at school.
