Career Essay: A Career As A Medical Assistant

Career interests The career that interest me right now is the medical assistant position. A medical assistant can specialize in different kind of medical assistants. Some options consist of administrative, clinical and ophthalmic. According to my scores of the O*NET Interest Profiler the kind of medical assistant that would best suit my interest is the clinical medical assistant. Clinical medical assistant’s duties vary from office work to hands-on work with patients. Because I live in Wisconsin, I am able to assist physicians with instruction, preparing specimens and maintaining exam rooms under the supervision of the physician (Wisconsin Society of Medical Assistants, 2015). My interest are working with children and youth; I feel in this field I would be comfortable working in any clinic, private practice or nonprofit organization that work with children. With having a manager background, I did a lot of teaching and training. I enjoyed this part of my job and got praise the detail of my training. I would like to obtain a career in teaching, instructing or training. The Medical Assistant- Certified is responsible for the clinic patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team, providing a broad range of health care services. The Medical Assistant- Certified may also be involved in the training and guidance of personnel. As a member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant-Certified is also aware of the psychosocial needs of patients and families. It is required that the incumbent is certified or eligible for certification as a Medical Assistant through a nationally accredited certification
