A Human Resource Sergeant in the Army provides the administrative support that affects Soldiers’ overall welfare and well-being, while assisting leaders with keeping Soldiers combat-ready and effective (Guard, 2017). As a Human Resource Sergeant it is important to be a professional. In the Human Resource field information and databases are constantly updating. A passionate Human Resource Sergeant must always stay current on where and how to always find the correct information and understand how it will assist a Solider and their career. Integrity and self-less service are two of the greatest attributes a Human Resource Sergeant can be. A professional Human Resource Sergeant must always maintain an ethical background by doing what is right by ensuring all Soldiers personal information is protected and their administrative data is updated to the best of their ability. At times doing so, a Human Resource Sergeant will show self-less service as working long hours after the duty day is over is sometimes required. Be All You Can Be In The U.S. Army The U.S. Army was founded on June 14, 1775. The U.S Army is the land service branch of the United States Armed Forces and it is one of the eight U.S. uniformed services. The Army is “a powerful fighting force defending and serving our nation by land, sea, and air.” The Army’s main objective is to preserve the peace, security and defense of the United States. The best way they do that is by organizing, training, and equipping active duty and reserved forces.
Organizational Setting: Army Reserve Careers Division The United States Army Reserve Careers Division (ARCD) is a specialized unit within the United States Army Reserve (USAR). ARCD is composed of Senior Noncommissioned Officers and field grade Commissioned Officer. These technical experts serve countless hours to ensure the strength and the readiness of the USAR is achieved according to the guidance set forth from the United States Congress. In order to get a full understanding of ARCD’s organizational setting, the following areas will be examined as it pertains to ARCD: mission of the organization, their customers, individual values added to the organization, and the role of Christianity in the organization.
In order to fully understand what being a member of the profession of arms means, one must first understand the meaning of the profession of arms. According to General Martin E. Dempsey, “the overall objective of the Army Profession of Arms campaign is for Soldiers and leaders to refine their understanding of what it means to be professionals--expert members of the Profession of Arms”. In other words, the job of a U.S. Soldier is to protect the way of life for the people of the United States and respect the human rights of others. Our nation has been engulfed in conflicts throughout the Middle Eastern region since September 11, 2001.

There are several reasons why I desire to become an Assistant Chief Recruiter. One of my motivating factors to achieve this milestone is so that I can give back to the Navy and my rate. Others include personal and professional growth. I have been in recruiting for 13 years and it has been amazing to see the impact I have had on my Sailors and how they have developed. I am motivated and dedicated to continuing developing our Sailors on a larger scale as an ACR.
I will now elaborate on why I firmly believe that the most important core values to our role as human resource analysts are integrity, open communication, and leading by example. Human service workers, work with voluntary or involuntary clients in situations of adversity in order to enhance the well-being of cliental (citep.6). For human service workers, professional identity must be held in high regards though varying from different professions. Police officers are human service workers with values of respect and integrity; when these values are encompassed, a professional identity is formed. A police officer valuing respect in the workplace will have successful interactions with clients and colleagues.
Now, this is not an easy feat. We have the best profession in the world. We get to serve the small portion of our country who volunteered to serve in this organization, but that bears with it a great amount of responsibility. Human Resources professionals in the Army have an expectation to be an expert at all things administrative. It does not matter how long you have served in the role.
The Important Role of the Human Resources Sergeant in the Profession of Arms The military is one of the most publically visible professions. In the Army, especially the Army National Guard, we work closely with our communities as well as have Soldiers who work in the communities. With such a close relationship we are looked to be the saviors. “The military services are well respected and are highly rated in every poll of public trust.” (“The Profession of Arms”, 2010)
Expertise is important in the sense that it allows individuals to establish themselves in the society. Not only does expertise help people make a living, but also allow people to make achievement and earn respect. In the articles, the three authors share their insights on the path to gain expertise and the pitfalls to avoid. One point that all three authors agree upon is that expertise is the specialized knowledge or skill acquired through lots of training and practices.
Human Resource is what keeps the company running and could be looked at as the backbone, due to the nature of hiring and supplying employees with skills necessary to run the company. This is to include any policies, regulations, and plans that have been constructed as well.
